Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described in relation to a Multiple Subscriber Identify Module (MSIM) user equipment (UE). The UE associated with multiple network subscriptions may determine a first timing of a first set of paging occasions associated with a first network subscription of the multiple network subscriptions, wherein the first network subscription is associated with a first network; determine a second timing of a second set of paging occasions associated with a second network subscription of the multiple network subscriptions, wherein the second network subscription is associated with a second network; compare the first timing and the second timing; detect a paging time adjustment condition based on the comparing; and based on the detecting, transmit to the first network, the second network or both a random access signal using a random access resource configured to convey a paging time adjustment request.
Abstract:
A multi-SIM UE may perform network SIB acquisition for each network subscription. However, if the multi-SIM UE employs subscriptions for the same network these operations may be performed redundantly. By identifying that the UE is employing multiple subscriptions, the UE and network can perform a single SIB acquisition for multiple subscriptions, which reduces power consumption and optimize network signaling overhead. In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may be a UE configured to determine that the UE is associated with a plurality of network subscriptions, the plurality of network subscriptions being associated with a network, select a network subscription from the plurality of network subscriptions, perform a random-access procedure using the network subscription, receive system information broadcast in response to the random-access procedure, and configure the plurality of network subscriptions at the UE based on the system information.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communications. In some aspects, a wireless communication device may determine, in a particular state, that a wireless communication device is performing a connection establishment procedure. The wireless communication device may refrain from transferring from a first radio access technology (RAT) to a second RAT until completing the connection establishment procedure. The second RAT may satisfy a set of transfer criteria associated with performing a transfer from the first RAT to the second RAT.
Abstract:
Described herein are various aspects related to determining whether to read system information of a network entity. A user equipment (UE) can receive system information transmitted by a network entity. The UE can analyze one or more parameters of the system information to determine whether system information for the network entity has changed when a value tag broadcasted in the system information is equivalent to a stored value tag for the network entity; thus the UE can utilize more than just the value tag, such as system information size, system information scheduling, a value tag in master information, and/or the like, at least in instance where the value tag may be the same in different transmissions of the system information. The UE can process the system information for the network entity based at least in part on determining that the system information for the network entity has changed.

Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for call continuity following radio link failure (RLF) through re-establishment of a voice call using a same or different radio access technology (RAT) before the call is dropped. Upon detection of RLF on a connection supporting a voice call, a UE may initiate a drop call timer and scan for available connections. The voice call may be attempted to be re-established if a connection is available on using a RAT of an existing connection. The voice call in such cases may continue without the call being dropped. Upon expiration of the drop call timer, the UE may attempt to establish a connection using a RAT identified during the duration of the drop call timer.
Abstract:
The disclosure provides for a user equipment (UE) detecting an indication of an application-specific latency reduction triggering condition that may trigger switching of a communication state of the UE. For example, the UE may be in an initial state. The UE may transition into a different state that is associated with lower latency for data transfer. In an aspect, the UE may trigger the indication for latency reduction even when the network-configured criteria for the indication has not yet been met. The UE may trigger an application-specific latency reduction triggering condition during the startup of an application, which triggers a resource request message even before the network-configured threshold value for generating such resource request messages is satisfied. The resource request message may cause the network to command the UE to transition to a state that has a latency less than that in the current state.
Abstract:
Aspects of user equipment capability reporting include receiving a paging signal for a second subscription during a tune away from an active voice call on a first subscription, sending a report of less than a full set of user equipment capability information to the network for the second subscription during a connection setup in response to the paging signal for the second subscription, extracting a caller identification (ID) associated with the paging signal for the second subscription during the tune away from the voice call on the first subscription, and initiating a transmission to the network for sending the full set of UE capability information for the second subscription in response to the voice call on the first subscription ending.
