Abstract: Embodiments include methods performed by a processor of a mobile device for allocating resources to a plurality of mobile devices in communication with an Edge network. The processor may receive from the plurality of mobile devices one or more capabilities of each mobile device related to a computing task in which the plurality of mobile devices are participating. The processor may determine a fairness result for the plurality of computing devices based on the one or more capabilities of each mobile device and the computing task. The processor may allocate resources to each of the plurality of mobile devices based on the determined fairness result.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for establishment and maintenance of edge data network services. A user equipment (UE) may register one or more application clients for edge services at an edge application server. In order to maintain edge application servers that are continuing to be used by the UE, an edge enabler server at the edge data network, an edge enabler client at the UE, or both, may initiate a timer that is used to confirm the edge application server is continuing to be used. Such techniques may help prevent resources from being consumed after the edge services are no longer needed, such as after the UE no longer needs the edge services or the UE has moved outside of an area associated with the edge services.

In some aspects, a network entity may transmit configuration information, to facilitate decompression of a header-compressed broadcast transmission, via a unicast transmission to a mobile device of a plurality of mobile devices, and may transmit the header-compressed broadcast transmission to the plurality of mobile devices in accordance with the configuration information.

Abstract: Various aspects include methods for supporting remote Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) profile provisioning that may be performed by a Lightweight Machine-to-Machine (LwM2M) server and LwM2M client computing devices, such as Internet of Things (IoT) devices. A LwM2M server may generate a remote SIM provisioning object for the LwM2M client computing device indicating that the SIM profile update for the LwM2M client computing device is available, and send the remote SIM provisioning object to the LwM2M client computing device. A LwM2M client computing device may receive a remote Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) provisioning object from a LwM2M server indicating that a SIM profile update for the LwM2M client computing device is available, and download the SIM profile update in response to receiving the remote SIM provisioning object.

Abstract: Systems and methods for establishing a connection with an edge application server are provided. A user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication network establishes a connection with an edge application server to offload the data processing of an application executing on the UE to the edge application server. The UE communicates key performance indicators (KPIs) associated with the application to the edge data network. The KPIs indicate the resources that application uses to process the data. In response, the UE receives edge application server parameters from multiple servers in the edge data network that meet or exceed the KPIs. The parameters include compute, graphical compute, memory and storage parameters with various levels of specificity. The UE selects one of the edge application servers to process the data on behalf of the application based on the parameters.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for configuration of edge data networks based on current and projected future locations of a user equipment (UE). The UE may provide one or more expected future locations based on routing information of the UE, a polygon associated with one or more current or future UE locations, a waypoint set of the UE, and the like. Based on the provided one or more future locations, the edge data network may provide to the UE one or more edge data network configurations for different UE locations. As the UE moves to different locations, different edge data network configurations may be used, thereby enhancing efficiency of UE operation in the edge data network.

The IoT device may identify one or more communication link characteristic preferences of the IoT device. The IoT device may scan characteristics of a plurality of connectivity objects that are linked in a server object. The IoT device may determine a best match access point name based on the communication link characteristic preferences of the IoT device and the scanned characteristics of the plurality of linked connectivity objects. The IoT device may select a communication link based on the determined best match access point name.

Abstract: Device wakeups can consume a significant amount of power with respect to the device's total power battery lifetime. Aspects of a method, apparatus, and computer-readable medium are presented herein that provide a solution to the problem of battery strain by improving the manner in which a wireless device coordinates device wakeup for multiple applications or multiple operations. An apparatus receives a wakeup time interval from each of a plurality of applications. The apparatus forms a first device wakeup time interval, the first device wakeup time interval including overlapping wakeup time intervals for the plurality of applications. The apparatus schedules a device wakeup during at least the first device wakeup time interval.
