Abstract: There is a need to support narrowband TDD frame structure for narrowband communications. The present disclosure provides a solution by supporting one or more narrowband TDD frame structure(s) for narrowband communications. In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may determine a narrowband communication frame structure comprising a FDD frame structure or a TDD frame structure and a narrowband TDD frame structure configuration for narrowband communications from a group of narrowband TDD frame structures configurations. The apparatus may determine one or more narrowband carriers and subframes within the one or more narrowband carriers to transmit at least one of a BCH or a SIB1 based on the narrowband communication frame structure or the TDD frame structure configuration. The apparatus may transmit a PSS, an SSS, and at least one of a BCH or an SIB1 using the narrowband TDD frame structure determined for the narrowband communications. In one aspect, a carrier used for transmitting the BCH and/or the SIB may be different than a carrier used to transmit one or more of the PSS or the SSS. In another aspect, a narrowband carrier used for transmitting the BCH may be different than a narrowband carrier used to transmit one or more of the PSS or the SSS.

Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to communicating positioning reference signals (PRSs) for narrowband communication are provided. A first wireless communication device determines a time-frequency PRS pattern based at least in part on a narrowband communication frequency band configuration and a PRS subframe configuration mode associated with a set of subframes. The first wireless communication device communicates, with a second wireless communication device, a plurality of PRSs using the determined PRS time-frequency pattern in the set of subframes. The PRS subframe configuration mode can indicate a first configuration including a bitmap indicating a set of PRS subframes positioned within a group of contiguous subframes, a second configuration indicating a subset of the group of contiguous subframes that may carry the PRSs, or a combination thereof. The first configuration and/or the second configuration can be used to indicate the set of subframes.

Abstract: A method, computer-readable medium, and apparatus are provided. In addition, the apparatus may determine a first set of subframes in the narrowband TDD frame structure used for transmitting a downlink control channel to a UE. In one aspect, a last subframe in the first set of subframes may be subframe n. Further, the apparatus may determine a second set of subframes in the narrowband TDD frame structure used for transmitting a downlink data channel to the UE. In certain aspects, a first subframe in the second set of subframes may be delayed based on k0 number of subframes after the subframe n. In certain other aspects, a last subframe in the second set of subframes may be subframe n+k0+x. Additionally, the apparatus may signal first information associated with the k0 number of subframes to the UE in a first delay field in a DCI transmission.

Abstract: There is a need to support TDD frame structure for narrowband communications. The present disclosure provides a solution by supporting one or more TDD frame structure(s) for narrowband communications. In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may determine to receive a narrowband physical downlink channel in a first subframe in a TDD frame structure of a plurality of TDD frame structures for narrowband communications. The TDD frame structures may include one or more special subframes, and the first subframe may be a downlink subframe. The apparatus may receive the narrowband physical downlink channel in a special subframe of the narrowband TDD frame structure, if the number of downlink OFDM symbols in the special subframe is greater than a predetermined threshold.
