    Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for determining whether a user equipment (UE) and a base station of a radio access network (RAN) configured to operate according to compatible variants of a standardized radio access technology (RAT). In some cases, a standard development organization for a geographic territory may modify a standardized RAT in a way that creates a new variant (also referred to as a forked deviation) of the RAT. Depending on what changes are made, the new variant may be compatible or incompatible with the original standardized RAT. This disclosure enables the UE to determine according to which variant of the RAT the RAN is configured to operate and manage connections to the RAN based whether the UE and the RAN are configured to operate according to compatible variants of the RAT.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. An integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node may have a radio resource control (RRC) connection with a first central unit of a first network node. The IAB node may receive an indication that the IAB node is to establish an IAB node-to-central unit connection (e.g., a F1 detour connection) with a second central unit of a second network node via the RRC connection between the IAB node and the first network node. The indication may be associated with a handover between the first network node to the second network node, where the first network node may the source node and the second network node may be the target node, or vice versa. The IAB node may communicate, with the second network node, via the IAB node-to-central unit connection using the RRC connection between the IAB node and the first network node.

    Abstract: A method of wireless communication by a user equipment (UE) includes determining whether the UE transitioned between an international area and a national area. The method also includes triggering a public land mobile network (PLMN) selection of a network for receiving service, in response to the UE having transitioned between the international area and the national area. A method of wireless communication by a UE includes performing a PLMN search for a higher priority PLMN. The method also includes determining a list of candidate PLMNs based on the search. The method further includes selecting a PLMN from among the list of candidate PLMNs in response to an identity of a serving PLMN not being a shared mobile country code (MCC). The candidate PLMNs have either an MCC the same as an identity of the serving PLMN or a shared MCC. The selected PLMN has a higher priority than the serving PLMN.

    Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques that allow the user equipment (UE) that initiated single radio voice call continuity (SRVCC) handover during an active voice session from 5G new radio (NR) to 3G legacy system to effectively transition back from 3G legacy systems to 5G NR systems after conclusion of the active voice session. In one example, the UE may override radio resource control (RRC) connection release with evolved universal terrestrial radio access network (E-UTRAN) frequency information that may direct the UE to camp in E-UTRAN cell (LTE cell). In another example, the UE, as a local policy or configuration, may override the UTRAN cell information when the UE is registered in next generation radio access network (NR) cell as 5G capable UE.
