Abstract: The present invention provides a projected capacitive type input device that easily achieves a high resolution and a large size. The input device is provided in a display device that updates a display by sequentially applying a scanning signal to a plurality of scanning signal lines during one frame period. The input device includes a plurality of driving electrodes and a plurality of detection electrodes that are arranged so as to cross each other. The detection electrodes are arranged parallel to the scanning signal lines. A touch position is detected by applying a driving signal to the driving electrodes and detecting a detection signal output from each of the detection electrodes during a touch detection period.
