    Abstract: Various examples pertaining to reflective quality of service (QoS) control in wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) receives from a wireless network control signaling that activates support of reflective QoS by the UE. The UE determines whether a predefined condition exists. The UE then indicates to the wireless network a change in a capability of the UE to support the reflective QoS responsive to the determining indicating that the predefined condition exists. When the UE receives from the wireless network control signaling that activates support of reflective QoS by the UE, the UE deletes one or more UE-derived QoS rules among a plurality of active UE-derived QoS rules each with a respective reflective QoS (RQ) timer running.

    Abstract: A method of enhancing IP packet forwarding feature support after interworking is proposed. When a PDU session in 5GS is transferred to a PDN connection in EPS, the UE shall assume the feature is supported after inter-system change from 5GS to EPS. When a PDN connection is established in EPS, the network indicated that the feature is not supported, and the network provided 5GSM parameters for ESM/5GSM interworking for this PDN connection, then UE shall assume the feature is supported after inter-system change from EPS to 5GS, the UE shall also assume the feature is supported after inter-system change from 5GS back to EPS. The IP packet forwarding features include PS data off and local IP address in TFT.

    Abstract: A generic access control procedure is proposed. Every action that is subject to access control is associated with an access category, and each access category is in turn associated with a set of access control parameters. From the APP layer, a UE detects an action that is subject to access control. The UE obtains and stores access categorization rules. In NAS layer, the UE determines the access category for the action. The UE then determines the set of access control parameters for the action. In AS layer, the UE finally applies the set of access control parameters to the action and makes a barring decision for the action. By defining a generic access control procedure and separating access control functions into NAS layer and AS layer, the generic access control is simplified and extendible.

    Abstract: A UE determines a set of RATs available in accordance with a first subscriber identity associated with a first network and a second subscriber identity associated with a second network.     Abstract: A method of handling insufficient resources in a user equipment (UE) during a PDU session establishment procedure is proposed. During a PDU session establishment procedure, UE sends a PDU SESSION ESTABLISHMENT REQUEST message to the network. UE then receives a PDU SESSION ESTABLISHMENT ACCEPT message from the network, the ACCEPT message carries various PDU session parameters including authorized QoS rules and QoS flows. If UE decides to reject the addition of the new authorized QoS flow description or the new authorized QoS rule due to lack of resources, UE may initiate a PDU session release procedure with 5G session management (5GSM) cause IE #26 “insufficient resources”. In an alternative embodiment, UE may synchronize with the network by sending a PDU session modification request message to delete certain QoS rules/flow descriptions with 5GSM cause IE #26 “insufficient resources”.

    Abstract: A method to manage call continuity in a network environment including a circuit-switched network and an IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) network is provided. A UE monitors one or more ongoing sessions in an IMS network, and the ongoing sessions contain at least one conference call. The UE detects a network-switching event for the UE to switch from the IMS network to a circuit-switched CS network. The UE then determines the one or more ongoing sessions within the IMS network to be released or transferred to the CS network.     Abstract: A solution of supporting IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) call setup in a next generation system (5GS) is proposed. During a registration procedure, the network sends indications to a user equipment (UE) indicating whether IMS voice over PS session (VoPS) over 3GPP access and over non-3GPP access is supported or not. The indications comprise two independent indicators, one indicator for indicating whether IMS VoPS is supported over 3GPP access, and the other indicator for indicating whether IMS VoPS is supported over non-3GPP access. In one example, the two independent indicators are included in a 5GS network feature support information element (IE) carried by a registration accept message sent from the network during the registration procedure.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for inter-RAT bearer change for the 3GPP network. In one novel aspect, a bearer termination procedure is performed upon detecting one or more triggering events for the inter-RAT bearer modification. In one embodiment, the UE established the 4G EPS bearer. The UE successfully performs a bearer change from 4G to 3G. Subsequently, the UE detects missing mandatory parameters during inter-RAT bearer change from 3G to 2G in an idle state. The UE performs bearer termination by releasing the PDP context. In one embodiment, the PDP context is locally released. In other embodiments, the UE explicitly releases bearer using the PDP context deactivation procedure. The locally released procedure can be triggered by the UE, or by the network, or by both the UE and the network. The explicitly PDP context release procedure can be triggered by the UE, or by the network, or by both the UE and the network.
