Abstract:
A method (100) of generating a ranked list (42) of alerts (30) from files (32) of electronic devices (12) includes: applying predictive models (34) to data of the files to generate maintenance alerts for the electronic devices; assigning discrete values for a set of criteria (36) to each maintenance alert whereby the maintenance alert has a share computed as a product of the assigned discrete values; performing a credit-based queuing process (38) to assign the maintenance alerts to slots of a ranked list, wherein in the credit-based queuing process the maintenance alerts accumulate credits in accord with the shares computed for the respective maintenance alerts; and displaying, on a display device (24) operatively connected with the at least one electronic processor, the maintenance alerts as the ranked list in accordance with the assignments of the maintenance alerts to the slots of the ranked list.
Abstract:
The present disclosure pertains to a light sensing system configured to determine an amount of ambient light exposure experienced by a subject. The present invention wirelessly exchanges light information between different wearable devices of the same user and/or between devices of different users. Local and/or central light profile databases are built-up by the system and are shared between the devices so that light data that is typical for a location at a specific time of day and year can be used to estimate current ambient light levels for situations in which no measurement can be taken.
Abstract:
The recommender system uses stored representations of relations between users. Access to an item by one or more first users in the storage system is recorded. When the recommender system detects a request for a rating of the item from a second user, the recommender system selects at least one of the first users that occurs in a stored relation with the second user. A query message that refers to the second user is then automatically transmitted to enter a rating for the item to a user address associated with the selected first users. Preferably at least one first user is selected for which it has been recorded that it has accessed the item but for which it has not yet given a rating. Preferably, the rating from the first user is passed to the second user via the recommender system, which records the rating for further use. The selection of the first user may be based on recorded data that measures correlation between ratings from the first and second user.
Abstract:
A wireless network comprises access points (APs) implementing roaming by way of handover of wireless devices between APs. Handover events over an analysis time interval are extracted from a wireless network log of the wireless network. Each handover event comprises a source AP from which a wireless device disconnects and a destination AP to which the wireless device connects. At least one handover frequency (HF) network topology graph is constructed fro the analysis time interval from the extracted handover events. The graph has nodes representing at least a subset of the APs of the extracted handover events and edges connecting pairs of nodes with each edge having a weight representing a count or frequency of handover events between the APs represented by the pair of nodes connected by the edge. A network diagnostic or visualization task is performed using the HF network topology graph.
Abstract:
A data base system is disclosed for storing meta-data about labeled predominantly non-text items in a collection of labeled predominantly non-text items (lpnt items). The system comprises a storage facility (10), a keyword generation facility (20) and a meta-data enrichment facility (30). The storage facility (10) stores respective meta-data for lpnt items (i) within said collection, said meta-data comprising at least one lpnt item classification (gi) and a lpnt item description (Ti), said classification defining classes. The keyword generation facility (20), which generates keyword data for respective classes, comprises a retrieval module for retrieving terms from lpnt item descriptions of lpnt items associated with said classes. The keyword generation facility (20) further comprises a term relevance determining module for assigning a relevance of said terms for said classes, for selecting terms from said retrieved terms on the basis of their assigned relevance and providing these selected terms as candidate keywords. The system further comprises a metadata enrichment facility (30) for adding a subset (Ki) of the provided candidate keywords (K(c)) as keywords to the meta-data of lpnt items of a class.
Abstract:
A method (100) of automated identification of one or more malfunction areas of a set (S) of malfunction areas for a service case in which a medical device (12) is serviced includes: generating an output probability vector (40) of probabilities for the set of malfunction areas of the medical device by operations including applying at least one classifier (42, 46) to at least one of (1) text descriptions of parts ordered for the service case and/or (2) a text description of the service case; and displaying a list (56) of one or more most probable malfunction areas for the service case wherein the one or more most probable malfunction areas are the one or more most malfunction areas of the set of malfunction areas having highest probability in the output probability vector.
Abstract:

A category unit (2) is arranged for associating the extracted term with a category that is semantically related with the extracted term. A query unit (3) is arranged for generating a query in dependence on the extracted term and the category. The query unit (3) includes an additional term unit (4) for generating at least one additional search term based on the category, and the query unit (3) is arranged for including the additional search term in the query. A submit unit (5) is arranged for submitting the query to at least one search engine (50), to obtain a plurality of found documents.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a light sensing system for sensing ambient light intensity, comprising a light sensing device with at least one light sensor and a calibration device for calibrating the sensor. The calibration device comprises at least one light source that emits light with a standard intensity. The invention is further related to a corresponding method for calibrating a light sensing device, comprising the illumination of the light sensor of the light sensing device with light that has a standard intensity, the comparison of the output intensity signal of the sensor with an expected signal that corresponds to the standard intensity, and the matching of the output intensity signal of the sensor to the expected signal by adjusting a gain parameter of the sensor.
