Abstract:
In order to simplify the sequence of creating a mask, in particular for producing a printing plate, and at the same time to improve the quality of the printing plate produced by means of a mask, the use of laser-induced thermal transfer is provided. The structure information is applied directly to the surface of a printing plate carrier during the creation of a mask, by means of a thermal transfer film and a laser image-setting unit, so that by means of the structure information applied, differentiation with regard to image points and non-image points can be carried out directly in order to produce a printing plate.
Abstract:
In order to provide a rotary printing machine for direct printing, in which the printing-assembly cylinders are arranged in a space-saving way, there is arranged in side walls at least one double printing assembly containing two form cylinders which are located one above the other, each having its own drive motor and between which at least one impression cylinder is arranged, a web being printable between a form cylinder and an impression cylinder. Each form cylinder and the impression cylinder cooperating with the latter are mounted, adjustably in terms of their mutual spacing, in side walls of the printing unit. For this purpose, the adjustable cylinders are mounted on both sides in slides which are moveable on guide elements fastened to the side walls.
Abstract:
A communication process and accompanying apparatus for enabling communication between different areas of the printing process, e.g. between the preliminary printing stage and the printing press, in either direction so that data for regulating the printing press can be obtained from data which does not depend on the type of printing press and the data to be printed which are received from the preliminary printing stage can be influenced by the printing press itself. The apparatus has a communication structure formed by a central main data processing station, with which a plurality of printing units of the printing press are interlinked for joint preparation of a job, and a decentralized data processing substation for each area of the printing process which can be connected in turn with the main data processing station. The connection between the substations and the main station is formed by device-independent interfaces which allow data to be transferred in either direction.
Abstract:
In order, on the one hand, to be able to use a high-pressure cleaning device comprising a high-pressure pump, a liquid supply and a pressure line for the liquid supplied by the pump as well as a housing surrounding the pump, in the usual way as a portable device and on the other hand, however, to facilitate transport without increasing the overall dimensions, it is proposed that rollers be arranged on the underside of the housing in the area of a side edge and that a handle insertable into the housing be mounted therein, the handle being shiftable between an inserted position in the housing and an extended position and securable in both these positions.
Abstract:
To apply a printed image on a printing form, a transfer tape is passed under a recording head, the transfer tape receiving, upon application of energy to the recording head, substance particles which change the surface of the printing form to have, respectively, ink accepting and ink repellent surface areas or, respectively, to fill the cells of a gravure cylinder, the transfer tape then being applied against the printing form and the substance particles therefrom being transferred to the printing form under influence of heat, or other energy, e.g. electrostatic or electromagnetic. Recording on the transfer tape, under control of an electronic control unit, can be carried out on a point-by-point or line-by-line basis at a recording speed which is slow with respect to the speed of operation of the reproducing head applying the substance particles to the printed form, so that information can be stored on the tape while a previously prepared printing form can print on the substrate. The information can be erased from the printing form by melting off the substance particles, after cleaning of residual ink, and wiping, blotting or blowing off the molten particles.
Abstract:
During start-up or run-on of a printing machine, a printed image is transferred from a printing cylinder (2, 24, 34) on a control or test cylinder (5, 26, 35) which has a surface representative of the surface of a substrate (6, 25, 33) on which printing, later on, is to be effected, for example a white ceramic surface of roughness comparable to that of paper. The image transferred on the control or test cylinder is optically tested while the cylinder rotates over a first partial circumferential range (7, 27, 36), and data derived, either by human observation or by electro-optical sensors (8, 28, 37) to permit readjustment of operating systems of the printing machine in accordance with desired operating parameters, such as register, inking density, ink/damping fluid relationship in offset processes or the like. The printed image is then erased, extinguished or removed, for example by cleaning, by a cleaning apparatus (13, 30, 39) located in a second subsequent range (12, 29, 38) of the circumference of the control or test cylinder. Ink stripped off the control or test cylinder is recycled, and washing fluid and ink are separated, for separate recycling. When appropriate printing is obtained on the control or test cylinder (5, 26, 35), substrates can then be passed through the printing machine and printing carried out without prior scrap test prints. The method and system are suitable for all printing methods, but are preferably and primarily used in offset printing systems and methods.
Abstract:
This invention concerns a novel process for the preparation of 6-piperazinyl derivatives of morphantridine and corresponding ring-substituted and hereto analogues thereof, comprising reacting a compound of the formula: ##SPC1##Wherein A is benzene or thiophene, and X is --CH.sub.2 -- or a hetero atom or group, with a complex comprising titanium, zirconium, hafnium or vanadium and a corresponding piperazinyl derivative. The end products are in general known and useful as neuroleptics.
Abstract:
A device for producing a coating on printed products from a printing press is provided. The coating device can be actuated digitally via printing image data thereby allowing the coating motif to be designed in a variable manner The coating device can include an inkjet printer in the form of an inkjet head array or an inkjet head bar acting as a varnishing unit that operates line-by-line on large-format printing material. The coating device can also be integrated in a rotary press having a varnishing unit for coating a printing material that has been processed in the printing press. The coating device can also be integrated with a dryer. The printing material can be passed under the outlet openings of the inkjet heads and the dryer can be arranged directly after the inkjet printer in the transport direction of the printing material in order to dry the liquid coating material on the printing material after the application.
Abstract:
An apparatus for cleaning and/or removing images from surfaces, in particular from roll or cylinder surfaces or printing forms is provided. The cleaning apparatus includes one or more blasting nozzles for discharging water in the form of crystalline ice particles or CO2 particles/pellets onto the surfaces to be cleaned. The discharging crystalline ice or CO2 particles effectively remove dirt particles or ink-carrying polymers from the surface to be cleaned. The dislodged material and the waste ice, which may have changed into water droplets, are removed from the surface and taken away.
