Abstract: A building management system (BMS) operates a plurality of HVAC devices to affect a physical state or condition and detects a fault condition at a second HVAC device affected by the physical state or condition and having causal relationships with the plurality of HVAC devices such that faulty operation of one or more of the plurality of HVAC devices causes a detectable effect at the second HVAC device. The BMS identifies, based on the fault condition, a predetermined set of system parameters corresponding to the fault condition and comprising a plurality of system parameters of the plurality of HVAC devices that are potential causes of the fault condition. The BMS retrieves operating data for the predetermined set of system parameters and transmits a signal to display a user interface comprising the operating data on a display screen.

Abstract: A system for controlling flow of a fluid through a heat exchanger in a heating, ventilation, or air conditioning (HVAC) system includes a flow control device operable to adjust the flow of the fluid through the heat exchanger, temperature sensors positioned to obtain a temperature differential of the fluid across the heat exchanger, and a controller configured to compare the temperature differential to a threshold. Responsive to the temperature differential being less than the threshold, the controller is configured to calculate an adjusted setpoint for the flow control device as a function of both the temperature differential and the threshold and operate the flow control device to adjust the flow of the fluid through the heat exchanger in accordance with the adjusted setpoint.

Abstract: A building system can connect to temporary air quality sensors installed throughout spaces of the building for a period of time. The building system can receive air quality measurements of the temporary air quality sensors over the period of time and disconnect from the temporary air quality sensors at an end of the period of time, wherein the temporary air quality sensors are uninstalled at the end of the period of time. The building system can generate a control strategy based on the air quality measurements, the control strategy for controlling equipment of the building to improve air quality of the building and cause a building management system to implement the control strategy to control the equipment of the building to improve the air quality of the building.

Abstract: A method for controlling a plant includes using a neural network modeling technique to calculate a neural network prediction based on plant input data, using a second modeling technique to calculate a second prediction based on the plant input data, and determining whether to use (1) the neural network prediction without the second prediction, (2) the second prediction without the neural network prediction, or (3) both the neural network prediction and the second prediction by comparing a location of the plant input data in a multi-dimensional modeling space to one or more thresholds. The method includes generating a combined prediction using one or both of the neural network prediction and the second prediction in accordance with a result of the determining and controlling the plant using the combined prediction.

Abstract: A method for providing filtered air to a zone of a building includes operating an air handler to pass unfiltered air through a filter and output filtered air to the zone of the building. The method includes determining an amount of filtered air provided to the zone of the building by the air handler. The method includes determining if additional air filtration is required to satisfy at least one of a desired amount of clean airflow or a desired reduction of a risk of infection. The method includes activating an in-zone filtration device and operating the in-zone filtration device to draw air from the zone into an inner volume, filter the air, and recirculate the filtered air to the zone of the building in response to determining additional air filtration is required.
