    Abstract: Surgical forceps can include a drive pin an outer tube, a first jaw, a second jaw, and an inner tube. The outer tube can define a longitudinal axis. The first jaw can be pivotably connected to the outer tube. The first jaw can include a pair of flanges located at a proximal portion of the first jaw, where each flange can include a track receiving the drive pin. The inner tube can be located within the outer tube and can extend along the longitudinal axis. The inner tube can include a pair of arms extending from a distal portion of the inner tube. The drive pin can be securable to the pair of arms. The inner tube can be translatable within the outer tube to drive the drive pin along the tracks to move the second jaw between open and closed positions.

    Abstract: A forceps having a first jaw and a second jaw, where at least one of the first and second jaws is capable of moving between an open position and a closed positions. The forceps including an inner shaft located within an outer shaft and extending along the longitudinal axis, and a drive bar coupled to and extending distally from the inner shaft. The drive bar including a pair of drive bar struts extending from a distal portion of the inner shaft and positioned laterally inward of at least one of first and second set of flanges of the first and second jaws. A drive pin is securable to the pair of drive bar struts and the drive bar is translatable within the outer shaft to translate the drive pin to move the first jaw and/or the second jaw between open and closed positions.

    Abstract: A forceps is provided that includes a first frame and a second frame opposing the first frame. One or both of the first and second frames include a polymer overmold where each of the first and second polymer overmolds have first and second conductor layers deposited thereon. The first and second conductor layers can have the same pattern or alternating patterns. When the first and second conductor layers have the same pattern, the forceps can include standoffs such that the first and second conductor layers are electrically isolated when the forceps is in a closed position. When the first and second conductor layers have alternating patterns, when the forceps is in a closed position, the patterns alternate such that the first and second conductor layers remain electrically isolated.

    Abstract: This document describes an end effector assembly of a medical device. The end effector assembly can include a jaw assembly including a first jaw member and an opposing second jaw member that can be pivotably coupled to the first jaw member at a fulcrum. The jaw assembly can be movable between a first position and a second position. An electrode can be arranged on an inner surface of the first jaw member or the second jaw member. The electrode can include a plurality of segments, such as can be arranged to be sequentially extending outward in a row away from the fulcrum. The segments can be spaced-apart from each other and individually deformable.
