    Abstract: Methods and systems for image acquisition device virtualization are described herein. A user of a client computing device may access a remote operating system running on a host computing device via a client application running on a local operating system of the client computing device. An image acquisition device such as a scanner may be connected to the client computing device and the user may wish to use the image acquisition device to acquire image data (e.g., scan a photograph). In order for an image application (e.g., a photo editor) running on the remote operating system to read in the image data from the image acquisition devices, the remote operating system of the host computing device may intercept a service call from the image application at a service layer and redirect the service call, via a virtual channel, to the local operating system of the client computing device.

    Abstract: A virtual delivery appliance may communicate with a client device over a network to provide the client device with a virtualized session for a user. A processor may be configured to communicate with the client device over the network to perform a registration operation with a relying party. An application within the virtualized session may perform an authentication operation with the relying party to access a resource. The processor may be configured to forward an authentication challenge message to the client device in response to the application receiving the authentication challenge message from the relying party for the user to access the resource, and receive an authentication answer message in response to the authentication challenge message from the client device.

    Abstract: Provided herein are systems and methods for providing insights or metrics in connection with provisioning applications and/or desktop sessions to end-users. Network devices (e.g., appliances, intermediary devices, gateways, proxy devices or middle-boxes) can gather insights such as network-level statistics. Additional insights (e.g., metadata and metrics) associated with virtual applications and virtual desktops can be gathered to provide administrators with comprehensive end-to-end real-time and/or historical reports of performance and end-user experience (UX) insights. Insights relating to an application or desktop session can be used to determine and/or improve the overall health of the infrastructure of the session, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, the applications (e.g., remote desktop application) being delivered using the infrastructure, and/or the corresponding user experience.
