Abstract:
A laser machining system is used to precision laser drill holes in an elastomeric material, preferably silicone rubber, to form holes to support miniature electronic components temporarily while they are being processed or tested. The holes are formed by directing laser pulses from a laser to a top surface of the elastomeric material in a plurality of passes in a direction proceeding from a non-zero inner diameter to the desired diameter or from the desired diameter to the inner diameter. The plurality of passes forms a first pattern such that a successive pass of the plurality of passes overlaps a previous pass of the plurality of passes. The first pattern is repeated without changing direction or the first pattern is repeated while reversing the direction until the hole is formed through a bottom surface of the elastomeric material.
Abstract:
In one aspect, the disclosure provides cross-linked materials that include multivalent lectins with at least two binding sites for glucose, wherein the lectins include at least one affinity ligand which is capable of competing with glucose for binding with at least one of said binding sites and is covalently linked to a cysteine residue of the lectins; and conjugates that include two or more separate affinity ligands bound to a conjugate framework, wherein the two or more affinity ligands compete with glucose for binding with the lectins at said binding sites and wherein conjugates are cross-linked within the material as a result of non-covalent interactions between lectins and affinity ligands on different conjugates. These materials are designed to release amounts of conjugate in response to desired concentrations of glucose. Depending on the end application, in various embodiments, the conjugates may also include a drug and/or a detectable label.

Anatomical healing abutments, kits and methods for promoting healing of gingival tissue around a subgingival void of a given tooth position. The abutment includes a cuff body having an anatomical subgingival portion extending from an implant end to the gingival margin of the patient, and an emergent crown portion extending occlusally from the subgingival portion beyond the gingival margin. A directional alignment body may be disposed on the cuff body and configured to extend bucally beyond an outer perimeter of the cuff body when the cuff body is anatomically aligned relative to the void. The subgingival portion has an asymmetric cross-section and is occlusally flared to anatomically fill the void and support gingival tissue around the void to minimize slump of tissue into the void. The crown portion has a mesial-distal width that spans a width of the gingival margin and an occlusal height to extend beyond the gingival margin.

A label holder for a retail display apparatus is provided. The label holder comprises a front panel, a sign clip, and a mounting structure for securing the label holder to the retail display apparatus. The sign clip includes a leg portion, including a gripping surface, and resiliently biases to secure a sign between the gripping surface and the front panel. In one embodiment, defined in the front panel are two sign engagement projections that interleavingly interact with the gripping surface. The sign clip is integrally connected to the front panel via an integral hinge and pivots relative to the front panel through the integral hinge between a normal state and a biased state. In the normal state, the leg portion of the clip is positioned proximate the front panel. In the biased state, the leg portion is spaced apart from the front panel and holds a secondary sign therebetween.
Abstract:
A plastic window frame trim is for installation of a window in a corrugated metal building wall having a cut opening with a top edge, bottom edge, and side edges, each of the edges being backed by framing members. The window frame trim includes: a frame header J-channel with a flange; a frame footer J-channel with a flange; a pair of nailing fins; and fasteners. The trim header J-channel, footer J-channel, and nailing fins are attached to the window frame. The window frame is lifted so frame header J-channel flange slides between the top edge of the metal building wall and a framing member at the top of the cut opening. The window is lowered so footer J-channel flange slides between the bottom edge of the metal building wall and a framing member at the bottom of the cut opening so that window frame rest on the window sill. Fasteners attach the window frame to the framing members through the metal building wall. Trim caps snap over the nailing fins to finish the trimmed window.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, pursuant to migrating the data from the first to the second storage medium, the data is allocated to the second storage medium while retaining an allocation of the data in the first storage medium. If the data is migrated from the second storage medium back to the first storage medium, the data is pointed to the allocation of the data in the first storage medium to alleviate data movement from the second storage medium to the first storage medium. If the allocation of the data in the first storage medium is determined to be needed for other data, the allocation of the data in the first storage medium is freed.
Abstract:
An example method is provided and includes establishing a communication pathway to a building element configured to control at least one environmental setting within a room. The method also includes communicating an ability to control the environmental setting within the room to an endpoint configured to participate in a meeting session. The method further includes receiving a command from the endpoint to adjust the environmental setting during the meeting session. The command can be communicated to the building element. In more specific examples, the method can include registering with one or more application program interfaces (APIs) associated with the building element, and communicating a credential to the building element in order to provide an authentication for controlling the environmental setting. In yet other embodiments, the command to adjust the environmental setting is received via a menu of a user interface provided by a video conferencing platform.
Abstract:
Casting jigs, methods, and kits that may be used in manufacture of anatomical healing caps. A casting jig may include a body having one or more wells within the body, each well being open at a proximal end thereof and having a negative shape corresponding to an anatomical healing cuff body of a given tooth position. Each respective anatomical healing cuff body negative shape includes an asymmetrical cross-section and an irregular surface so that an anatomical healing cuff body having said shape is configured to provide substantially custom filling of at least an emergence portion of a void where a natural tooth once emerged or should have emerged from the void (e.g., in the case of a congenitally missing tooth). The casting jig may further include a socket at a distal end of each well that is configured to releasably receive therein a dental implant or dental implant analog.
Abstract:
The present invention is thus directed to an automated system and method of varying the optical path length in a sample that a light from a spectrophotometer must travel through. Such arrangements allow a user to easily vary the optical path length while also providing the user with an easy way to clean and prepare a transmission cell for optical interrogation. Such path length control can be automatically controlled by a programmable control system to quickly collect and stores data from different path lengths as needed for different spectrographic analysis. Such a methodology and system, as presented herein, is able to return best-match spectra with far fewer computational steps and greater speed than if all possible combinations of reference spectra are considered.
