    摘要: An isolation valve unit with a fusion outlet including a valve body comprised of a metal, such as brass, and having at least two ports, at least one of the ports including an overmolded thermoplastic end surrounding and enclosing the port from which the fusion outlet extends. In one embodiment, the thermoplastic end is composed of a PP-RCT material and is securely formed over the port by way of an over molding technique. The valve unit further includes a ball valve accommodated within the valve body and a handle for actuating the ball valve. The isolation valve unit is configured to couple to a larger polymeric pipe and to control the flow of fluids in a plumbing system via actuation of the ball valve.

    摘要: A piping component that includes (i) a piping body with an open end; and (ii) an alloy comprising (by weight percentage) 12% to 16.5% zinc, 0.265% to 1.6% silicon and sufficient copper so that the sum of the weight percentages of the zinc, silicon, and copper in the alloy is at least 99.7%. The alloy exhibits an elongation that is within a range of 60% to 70%. Additionally discloses is a piping component including (i) a piping body with an open end; and (ii) a cold worked alloy comprising (by weight percentage) 12% to 16.5% zinc, 0.265% to 1.8% silicon and sufficient copper so that the sum of the weight percentages of the zinc, silicon, and copper in the alloy is at least 99.7%. In embodiments, the weight percentage of the silicon in the alloys disclosed can be 0.5% to 1.6%, 0.5% to 1.8%, or 0.5% to 2.0%.

    摘要: A brass fitting is in-molded in a plastic pipe fitting, which is coupled to a water supply line in a conventional matter. The brass insert receives a tapered seal with sealing surfaces that seat against the brass insert and a sprinkler head to form a sealed connection. The seal includes a tapered passageway for compression when tightening, as well as an external taper to allow the seal to conform to the socket formed by the plastic pipe fitting and brass insert. Also, a manufacturing method includes in-molding a brass insert within a plastic fitting using an O-ring which interfaces between the brass insert and surrounding molded fitting to seal the brass insert to the fitting. In one embodiment, the seal is used in a polymeric fitting without a brass insert.

    摘要: A valve system includes a spring-biased locking slide plate which extends in an axial direction parallel to and offset from the axis of the valve stem and selectively extends through a base plate mounted to the top of a valve to selectively engage stop tabs on the valve body. The locking slide plate also extends through the valve handle and through a locking member to selectively lock the valve in open or closed positions. In one embodiment, the locking slide plate comprises two sections which include a lower section having tines which selectively engage tabs on the valve body and a second upper section which is spring-biased to the lower section to float to allow the lower section to accommodate different diameter valve bodies.
