摘要: A method and apparatus for encoding of video data incorporating loop filtering are disclosed. The method and apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention determines an initial loop filter level for a frame of the video data according to quality setting of the frame. The information associated with the initial loop filter level is incorporated in the bitstream corresponding to compressed video data. The loop filtering is applied to a macroblock without the need to wait for the whole frame reconstruction to complete. In another embodiment according to the present invention, the initial loop filter level may be refined according to stability associated with the frame. In yet another embodiment according to the present invention, the method may include determining whether segment mode is on or off and determining a frame-level or segment-level initial loop filter level accordingly.

摘要: An information display method implemented in a display system is provided, comprising an electric appliance and a remote controller. First, when receiving message input, the electric appliance determines whether to display the message on the main display in accordance with the specific mode. If the specific mode is in a first mode, the received message is displayed on the display of the remote controller and is kept from displaying on the main display. If the electric appliance is not in a first mode, the received message is displayed on the main display.

摘要: A gray voltage generation circuit for driving a liquid crystal display rapidly outputs an altered gray voltage so that a source driving circuit can charge liquid crystal capacitors constructed in a liquid crystal panel in a short period of time. In response to the gray voltages from the gray voltage generation circuit, while driving a positive polarity, the source driving circuit generates a liquid crystal driving voltage of higher level than the existing liquid crystal driving voltage when applying a gate clock signal of high level, and generates a liquid crystal driving voltage of a level similar to the existing liquid crystal driving voltage when applying a gate clock signal of low level. And, while driving a negative polarity, the source driving circuit generates a liquid crystal driving voltage of lower level than an existing liquid crystal driving voltage when applying a gate clock signal of high level, and generates a liquid crystal driving voltage of a level similar to the existing liquid crystal driving voltage when applying a gate clock signal of low level.

摘要: An automatic ice maker adapted for use in a refrigerator includes an ice-making tray rotatable between an upright ice-making position and an inverted ice-discharging position by a motor. A container is disposed beneath the tray for receiving ice when the tray is in the inverted position. First and second switches are each moved between first and second states in response to rotation of the tray. The second switch can be moved to its second state in response to the container being full of ice. Whenever the refrigerator is started-up, e.g., after a power outage, a controller determines whether both of the switches are in their first states. If so, an ice making operation is performed. If not, the motor is actuated in a manner tending to rotate the tray to its upright position. When the tray reaches its upright position, a stop is contacted, whereupon a load is generated at the motor, causing the controller to stop the motor.

摘要: An ice making mechanism includes a tray for receiving water to be frozen into ice bodies, a sensor for determining whether the water is frozen, to initiate an ice-ejecting mode, a motor for rotating the tray to perform the ice-ejecting mode, a switching mechanism for indicating a state of the ice-ejecting mode, and a switch actuating structure driven by the motor for changing a state of the switches during the ice-ejecting mode. When an ice-ejecting mode is initiated, a time period for the state of the switching mechanism to be changed is compared with a reference time period. If the state of the switching mechanism has not been changed within the referenced time period, the ice-ejecting mode is stopped, and the tray is returned to an up-right position. Also, an alarm signal is generated indicating to a user that the ice-ejecting mode has been stopped.

摘要: A brushless DC motor compressor starting circuit protecting apparatus for a refrigerator and a method thereof, for controlling excessive current flowing through a coil of a brushless DC motor which is caused by a pressure load of the refrigerator when a compressor starts, before the compressor repeats turning on and off according to a temperature cycle, are provided with a resistor mounted on a circuit board, and a relay for connecting the resistor in series with a motor coil, so that the resistor is connected in series with the coil when a large current flows at an initial driving. Here, a power voltage of a motor driver is divided by a dividing means and an initial-rotation state of the motor is detected by the divided voltage. Therefore, the destruction of a switching device and the demagnetization of a permanent magnet can be prevented and a stable starting can be achieved by restraining the excessive current flowing in the motor coil at the compressor starting.

摘要: An ice making tray in a refrigerator is connected by a pump to a water reservoir located in the refrigerator. Once ice has been ejected from the tray and into a bin, the pump is activated for a preset period to re-fill the ice tray with water from the reservoir. Each time that the pump is activated, its time period of operation is automatically counted, and a running total of the counted time periods is automatically kept. That total is compared to a predetermined (reference) value representing a period of pump operation which causes the water in the tank to be reduced to a predetermined low level. When the running total reaches the reference value, an alarm is energized to warn a user that the reservoir should be re-filled.
