An image forming apparatus containing an electrophotographic photoreceptor and a toner for developing an electrostatic charge image, where the electrophotographic photoreceptor has an undercoat layer containing metal oxide particles; the toner for developing an electrostatic charge image is a toner for developing an electrostatic charge image containing toner matrix particles formed in an aqueous medium; the toner has a volume median diameter (Dv50) of from 4.0 μm to 7.0 μm; and the relationship between the volume median diameter (Dv50) and the percentage in number (Dns) of toner particles having a particle diameter of from 2.00 μm to 3.56 μm satisfies the following formula (1): Dns≦0.233EXP(17.3/Dv50) (1) where Dv50 is the volume median diameter (μm) of the toner, and Dns is the percentage in number of toner particles having a particle diameter of from 2.00 μm to 3.56 μm.

Disclosed is a coating liquid for producing an electrophotographic photosensitive body, which is excellent in electrical characteristics and mechanical durability, while being excellent in coatability and liquid stability. Also disclosed are an electrophotographic photosensitive body produced by using such a coating liquid, an image-forming device comprising such an electrophotographic photosensitive body, and an electrophotographic photosensitive body cartridge. Specifically disclosed is a coating liquid for producing an electrophotographic photosensitive body, which is characterized by containing a copolymerized polycarbonate resin and asolvent A having a boiling point of not less than 80#C but not more than 150#C. The copolymerized polycarbonate resin has a repeating unit represented by the formula (1) below, while containing not more than 10% by weight of a repeating unit having a biphenyl structure. The average of repetitions of the unit represented by the formula (1) is not more than 10.

It is to provide a sheet-shaped electrophotographic photoreceptor which has an uncoated area, is good in mechanical adhesiveness between the photosensitive layer and the sheet-shaped conductive substrate but excellent ease of peeling with a solvent, and is further good in electrical properties. The electrophotographic photoreceptor comprises a sheet-shaped conductive substrate and a photosensitive layer provided thereon, wherein the electrophotographic photoreceptor contains a photosensitive layer-uncoated area within the sheet surface, and the photosensitive layer contains a copolycarbonate resin having an extremely restricted specific structure.
