摘要:
This present invention is directed to peptides, compositions, and methods for modulating endogenous cytokine expression in a subject. More specifically, the invention provides peptides useful in regulating the release of a specific pattern of cytokines that promote angiogenesis and/or can be used to modulate the immune system of a subject.
摘要:
This invention generally relates to peptides useful for medical diagnosis and treatment of pathogenic disorders. More specifically, the invention relates to immunostimulatory peptides which can stimulate the production of therapeutically beneficial cytokines and, in combination with antibodies against human pathogens such as the immunodeficiency virus (HIV), inhibit replication of such pathogens. The peptides interact synergistically with pathogen-directed antibodies without producing or sustaining serious side-effects such as inflammation, and provide the potential for treatment modalities that are non-specific with respect to pathogen and cell type. Therefore, the peptides of the present invention have wide applicability with respect to medical treatment of pathogen-mediated infections, and the potential to enhance well-being.
摘要:
The present disclosure relates to pharmaceutical compositions comprising a peptide or multivalent polypeptide, and an anti-cancer agent. In some embodiments, the anti-cancer agent is conjugated to the peptide or multivalent polypeptide. The present disclosure also relates to a method of treating cancer or reducing cancer cell proliferation using the peptide or multivalent polypeptide. In some aspects, the peptide or multivalent polypeptide enhances the efficacy of the anti-cancer agent, the targeting of the anti-cancer agent to the cancer cells, or both.
摘要:
Compositions and methods useful in modulating the innate and adaptive immune systems in a subject, including activation of natural killer (NK) cells and/or CD8+ cytotoxic T lymphocytes. The method typically comprises: administering to the subject a composition comprising a therapeutic peptide or a multivalent structured polypeptide comprising multiple copies of the therapeutic peptide described herein in an amount sufficient to increase activity of NK cells and/or CD8+ cytotoxic T lymphocytes in the subject. Preferred therapeutic compositions comprise a carrier; at least one agent selected from the group consisting of: an anti-inflammatory agent, a cytotoxic T cell proliferation agent, or a NK cell proliferation agent; and a therapeutic peptide or a multivalent structured polypeptides of the invention. In certain embodiments, the composition further comprises an immunoglobulin admixed therewith in an amount sufficient to enhance passive immunoprotection in the subject. In other embodiments, the compositions are administered in a therapeutically effective amount to a subject in need thereof to treat rheumatoid arthritis.
摘要:
The present invention is directed to a family of therapeutic peptides capable of modulating cytokine expression and/or stimulating the immune system of subject without producing or sustaining serious side-effects. Methods using the peptides to modulate cytokine expression in a subject, treat a disease, enhance vaccination, and stimulate a subject's immune system response are also disclosed.
摘要:
This present invention generally relates to peptides, compositions, treatment methods, and devices useful for the medical diagnosis and treatment of pathogenic disorders. More specifically, the invention relates to immunostimulatory peptides which can stimulate the production of therapeutically beneficial cytokines. The peptides of the invention can regulate the release of a specific pattern of cytokines that promote angiogenesis, and modulate the immune system of a subject, without inducing deleterious side effects such as inflammation. Therefore, the peptides have therapeutic importance, particularly with respect to wound healing and restoration of circulation to damaged tissues.
