Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure are directed to apparatus and techniques for performing coordinated beamforming (CoBF) transmissions. The apparatus generally includes a processing system configured to generate at least one first frame including an invitation to share resources with one or more first wireless nodes, wherein the apparatus is part of a first basic service set and the one or more first wireless nodes are part of one or more second basic service sets, a first interface configured to output the at least one first frame for transmission to the one or more first wireless nodes, and a second interface configured to obtain, from the one or more first wireless nodes, an identification of one or more second wireless nodes if the invitation is accepted, wherein the second interface is configured to obtain one or more transmissions from at least one of the one or more second wireless nodes.
Abstract:
Techniques are provided for broadcast target wake time (TWT) indication in broadcast probe response and FILS discovery frames to aid unassociated wireless stations (STAs). Since broadcast probe response and/or FILS discovery frames are present to aid an unassociated STA discover an AP, an AP may advertise broadcast TWT in these frames when the AP intends to include at least one random access (RA) resource unit (RU) with AID12 set to 2045 (for unassociated STAs). In an aspect, an AP can include the broadcast TWT element in a broadcast probe response frame if a trigger frame (TF) in the TWT service period (SP) is to include at least one RA RU with AID12 set to 2045. In another aspect, an AP can include broadcast TWT element in a FILS discovery frame if the TF in the TWT SP is to include at least one RA RU with AID12 set to 2045.
Abstract:
Techniques are provided for extending a beacon request mechanism in IEEE 802.11k for spatial reuse. Particularly, in order to facilitate spatial reuse, features of the present disclosure allow an access point (e.g., a high efficiency access point or HE AP) to request information regarding neighboring APs from one or more associated STAs such that the AP may determine whether any of the neighboring APs are part of the same enterprise or spatial reuse group (SRG) as the AP based on the basic service set (BSS) color information provided in beacon reports. As such, the AP may either enable or disable SR for communication based on determination whether the neighboring AP is part of the same enterprise.
Abstract:
In some examples, a method includes receiving, at a second device of a data link group of a neighbor aware network (NAN), a message including an indication of whether a first device corresponding to a particular service is available during a particular time period during which devices of the data link group are configured to operate in an active operating mode. The method also includes transitioning to a low-power operating mode during one or more transmission windows corresponding to the particular time period in response to determining that the first device is unavailable during the particular time period.
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer-readable medium for wireless communication are provided. In one aspect, an apparatus is configured to determine a schedule for communicating data in a NAN network. The apparatus is configured to communicate data over a data link within the NAN network based on the determined schedule.
Abstract:
Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for efficient ranging, for example, in a neighbor aware network (NAN). According to certain aspects, an apparatus for wireless communications is provided. The apparatus generally includes a processing system configured to determine a period that at least one second apparatus is scheduled to be awake, generate a first frame for transmission to the second apparatus during the period, determine ranging information based on a time difference between transmission of the first frame and receipt of a second frame in response to the first frame, and generate a third frame including the ranging information; a transmit interface configured to output the first and third frames for transmission; and a receive interface configured to obtain the second frame. By exchanging ranging information in already scheduled wake-up periods and in existing frame, power consumption and signaling overhead may be reduced.
Abstract:
An apparatus for communication includes a processor and a transmitter. The processor is configured to generate a frame having a neighbor aware network (NAN) service discovery frame format, a NAN management frame format, or both. The frame includes a traffic announcement attribute that indicates, by access category, availability of data to be sent. The transmitter is configured to send the frame during a communication window.
Abstract:
A method includes receiving a service discovery frame at a first electronic device of a data link of a neighbor aware network (NAN). The service discovery frame may include an attribute identifying a subset of electronic devices of the data link as recipients of data from a second electronic device of the data link during a transmission window or identifying a time period of data announcements and timing information of data transmissions corresponding to the data link. The method also includes determining whether to monitor a wireless network corresponding to the data link during the transmission window based on the attribute.
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. In one aspect, an apparatus includes a processor configured to send a request to at least one station associated with the apparatus to scan for information related to at least one neighboring access point (AP) operating in a neighborhood of the apparatus and report the information to the apparatus, receive from the at least one associated station a report including the information, generate a neighborhood report related to the at least one neighboring AP, the neighborhood report including the information received from the at least one associated station, and transmit the neighborhood report to one or more other stations not associated with the apparatus to facilitate discovery of an AP of interest to the one or more other stations.
Abstract:
This disclosure provides methods, components, devices and systems that may help various wireless devices negatively acknowledge certain wireless transmissions. An example method, performed at a first wireless node, generally includes obtaining information indicating transmission, from a second wireless node, of a physical layer (PHY) protocol data unit (PPDU) intended for the first wireless node, generating a frame indicating negative acknowledgment of at least a portion of the PPDU if one or more conditions are met, and outputting the frame to the second wireless node.
