In some aspects, a user equipment may receive a first configuration and a second configuration, wherein the first configuration is for a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle and the second configuration is for a configured grant (CG), wherein the DRX cycle is associated with a set of active time durations and a set of non-active time durations, and wherein the CG is associated with a transmission in one or more non-active time durations of the set of non-active time durations; receive information identifying a mask, wherein the mask indicates a modified configuration for the transmission in the one or more non-active time durations or a modified multiplexing scheme for the CG; and selectively perform or skip the transmission in accordance with the CG and the mask.     Abstract: In an aspect, a slave UE and a master UE each establish an attachment to a core network of a cellular communications system. The slave UE obtains security credentials configured to encrypt and decrypt traffic between the slave UE and the core network. A D2D connection is established between the slave UE and the master UE (e.g., tethering). One or more communication functions are offloaded from the slave UE to the master UE, including at least one communication function with the core network for maintaining the attachment of the slave UE to the core network. Application-layer data is relayed to/from the slave UE over the D2D connection. In an aspect, either the slave UE or the master UE may perform encryption and decryption of control plane signaling using the slave UE's security credentials.

    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may be configured to receive configuration information from a base station, and the configuration information may indicate at least two different random access channel (RACH) request configuration parameters that each is associated with a respective radio resource control (RRC) state. The UE may be further configured to generate a first message associated with a two-step RACH procedure including a preamble and a payload, the payload including data on an uplink data channel and at least one reference signal. The UE may be further configured to transmit the first message to the base station using at least one of the at least two different RACH request configuration parameters that corresponds to an RRC state of the UE. The preamble may be transmitted on a first set of resources associated with a RACH occasion, and the payload may be transmitted on a second set of resources.
