Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A bandwidth reduced low-tier user equipment (UE) may receive a signal identifying a control resource set for the UE to monitor for control information scheduling communications between the UE and a base station, the control resource set comprising a plurality of control channel elements organized across more than three symbols and comprising one or more first resource element groups mapped to a first monitoring occasion and one or more second resource element groups mapped to a second monitoring occasion. The UE may receive, during the first monitoring occasion, at least a first portion of the control information on the one or more first resource element groups. The UE may receive, during the second monitoring occasion, at least a second portion of the control information on the one or more second resource element groups. The UE may communicate with the base station in accordance with the control information.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may receive a sub-band specific sounding reference signal (SRS) resource indicator identifying subsets of SRS resources, of a set of SRS resources, associated with precoding a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) communication that is to be transmitted in a PUSCH resource. The user equipment may precode the PUSCH communication based at least in part on the sub-band specific SRS resource indicator. The user equipment may transmit the PUSCH communication after precoding the PUSCH communication based at least in part on the sub-band specific SRS resource indicator. The CSI report configuration configures the UE for reporting precoding matrix information including, for each layer, a plurality of selected beams L, a plurality of frequency domain compression bases F for the L beams, and a subset of linear combination coefficients associated with the frequency domain compression bases and beams. The UE can determine a number of coefficients to report for a higher rank based on a configured maximum number of coefficients to report for a lower rank.

The CSI report configuration configures the UE (120a) to report, for a plurality of selected beams at a plurality of time domain taps, a frequency domain compression basis vector and a plurality of linear combination coefficients associated with the frequency domain compression (805). For each of the beams, the UE (120a) groups the time domain taps into at least first and second groups. The groups each can have zero, one, or more than one time domain taps (810). The UE (120a) quantizes the corresponding linear combination coefficients and/or frequency domain compression basis vectors based on the grouping (815).

Abstract: Dynamic reconfiguration of CSI-RS resources for CSI reporting is described for full dimension multiple input, multiple output (FD-MIMO) systems. While a larger number of channel state information (CSI) reference signal (CSI-RS) resources with independent resource configuration are configured and associated with a CSI process, only a subset of resources that are activated by additional signaling are used for CSI measurement and reporting. The set of activated CSI-RS resources may include only a single CSI-RS resource. Both periodic and aperiodic CSI reporting may then be based on the same set of the activated CSI-RS resources. Medium access control (MAC) control elements may be used to provide activation/deactivation of the CSI-RS resources. Additionally, CSI reporting may be based on both the activated CSI-RS resources and the associated number of antenna ports.
