    Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support cell-group slot format indication (SFI) facilitating dynamic cross-cell operation are described. Cell-group SFI information of some examples supports full duplex operation implemented using cross-cell communication techniques. Devices may be provided with information regarding cell-groups and information regarding cell slot formats for cells in the cell-groups. For example, cell-group SFI may be provided for switching slot (symbol) types across cells for a number of slots, wherein a base station may define a cell-group and a cell-group SFI applies to cells within the cell-group. Cell-group SFI information may indicate cell slot formats for each cell of a selected cell-group to provide a device with slot formats used with respect to the cells of the cell-group. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

    Abstract: Fallback procedures for user equipments (UEs) are described that provide efficient fallback to a four-step random access procedure from a two-step random access procedure. For example, after transmitting a first message of a two-step random access procedure, a UE may start a fallback timer or counter and monitor for a second message of the two-step random access procedure for the duration of the fallback timer or counter. At the expiration of the fallback timer or counter, the UE may fall back to a four-step random access procedure. In some cases, the UE may transmit multiple repetitions of the first message and monitor for responses after transmitting the repetitions or after each repetition. Additionally or alternatively, the base station may transmit an explicit signal to the UE that may signal to the UE to perform a fallback procedure at a beginning or middle of a random access procedure.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, devices, and apparatuses are described for wireless communications. In one method, a set of one or more data subframes of a data frame may be transmitted over an unlicensed spectrum, to a user equipment (UE), during a transmission period. A group hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback message for a plurality of data subframes including at least one of the data subframes in the set of one or more data subframes may then be received over the unlicensed spectrum, from the UE, during the transmission period. In another method, a set of one or more data subframes of a data frame may be received over an unlicensed spectrum during a transmission period. A group HARQ feedback message for a plurality of data subframes including at least one of the data subframes in the set of one or more data subframes may then be transmitted over the unlicensed spectrum during the transmission period.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A base station may transmit or otherwise indicate a semi-static slot format configuration and a dynamic slot format configuration to a user equipment (UE). The UE may determine a slot format configuration based on the received semi-static and dynamic slot format configurations. In some cases, the UE may replace certain resources of the semi-static slot format configuration with resources from the dynamic slot format configuration depending on a certain embodiment. Additionally or alternatively, the base station may transmit an anchor slot configuration to the UE, which may indicate which resources of the semi-static slot format configuration can be overridden or replaced by the dynamic slot format configuration.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may determine a mapping between synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) and a random access message of a two-step random access procedure based on an indication in system information signaling or radio resource control (RRC) signaling. The random access message may include a random access preamble and a random access payload. The UE may determine, based on the mapping, an association between one or more beams carrying the SSBs and one or more additional beams carrying the random access preamble and the random access payload of the random access message. As a result, the UE may perform the two-step random access procedure with a base station according to the beam association, and coexist with a four-step random access procedure in a more reliable and efficient manner.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Techniques are described herein for managing timers for hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) processes associated with multiple configured grants that are active at the same time. Techniques are also described herein for allocating HARQ identifiers (IDs) to HARQ processes associated with multiple configured grants that are active at the same time. A user equipment (UE) may configure timers to be associated with a HARQ ID and a configured grant. A base station or UE may include indicators of the configured grants associated with a HARQ process when exchanging signaling about the HARQ process. A UE may allocate HARQ IDs to multiple configured grants to reduce a likelihood that HARQ processes collide.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for uplink control information (UCI) transmission for overlapping physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) and physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) resource assignments with repetition. A method of wireless communication by a user equipment (UE) is provided. The method generally includes receiving scheduling to transmit on the PUSCH in a first one or more slots associated with a first number of repetitions and scheduling to transmit on the PUCCH in a second one or more slots associated with a second number of repetitions. The scheduled transmissions overlap in at least one slot. The method includes determining which channel to transmit UCI on and which channel to drop for each of the first and second one or more slots. The method includes transmitting or dropping the UCI in the first and second one or more slots in accordance with the determination.
