Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide for the pairing of two or more inter-band time division duplex (TDD) carriers. In some examples disclosed herein, a conjugate or inverse carrier may be used such that full duplex, or a close approximation thereto, is achieved. With the introduction of a paired channel and fast control channels, rapid uplink/downlink switching may be achieved for TDD carriers efficiently and effectively. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described in which a number of reference signal processes may be configured for a number of slots in a radio frame, and a corresponding reference signal process for each slot may be based at least in part on a location of the slot within the radio frame and a number of configured reference signal processes. An indication may be provided to a user equipment (UE) in each slot that indicates a presence or absence of a reference signal transmission in the slot.

Abstract: Techniques are described for wireless communication. A first method includes measuring, by a first device, a condition of a wireless channel; and generating at least one channel side information feedback message based on the measured condition of the wireless channel. The at least one channel side information feedback message provides information on a relationship of a set of parameters, including a data rate parameter, an error probability parameter, and at least one of a deadline parameter or a transmission link parameter. A second method includes measuring, by a first device, interference on a wireless channel; identifying an interfering device for the wireless channel based on the measurement; and generating a channel side information feedback message based on the measured interference on the wireless channel. The channel side information feedback message indicates the interfering device for the wireless channel and a correlation of interference from the interfering device with time or frequency.

Abstract: Techniques are described for wireless communication. A method for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) includes identifying a transmission timing of a control reference signal transmitted over a radio frequency spectrum band during an OFF duration of the UE with respect to the radio frequency spectrum band, in which the identified transmission timing is relative to a transition from the OFF duration to an ON duration of the UE with respect to the radio frequency spectrum band; receiving the control reference signal at the identified transmission timing; and performing a warm-up procedure, before the ON duration, based at least in part on the identified transmission timing of the control reference signal. A method for wireless communication at a wireless network includes indicating, to the UE, the transmission timing of the control reference signal; and transmitting the control reference signal at the indicated transmission timing. The OFF duration and the ON duration are coordinated with a wireless network.

The UE may receive from the base station refined reference signals (RRSs) that include an active beam RRS corresponding to the active beam. The UE may identify that the active beam RRS corresponds to the active beam and perform a beam state measurement on the active beam RRS. The UE may refine the active beam based at least in part on the beam state information of the active beam RRS.

Abstract: Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer-readable storage media for managing power consumption of a mobile device are disclosed. The systems, method, apparatus, and computer-readable storage medium may cause the base station to identify an energy metric associated with a mobile device, and to configure the transmission between the base station and the mobile device based at least in part on the energy metric. The configuration of the transmission may reduce the power consumption of the mobile device for processing the transmission.

Abstract: In wireless communication networks using carrier aggregation, a user equipment (UE) may monitor a downlink radio link quality of secondary cells for an event indicating failure of the communication link with the secondary cell. When a failure event is detected, the UE declares a failure state on the secondary cell. In response to the failure state, the UE may adjust operations related to the secondary component carrier in order to save power and resources.
