Abstract: Wireless communication devices are adapted to facilitate multiplexing of reference signals. According to one example, a wireless communication device can multiplex a first reference signal and a second reference signal utilizing code division multiplexing for transmission across a first resource element and a second resource element. The first resource element may utilize a first subcarrier in a first OFDM symbol employing a first numerology. The second resource element may utilize a second subcarrier in a second OFDM symbol employing a second numerology that is different from the first numerology, where the second subcarrier overlaps in frequency at least a portion of the first subcarrier. The first and second OFDM including the multiplexed first and second reference signals may subsequently be transmitted. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also included.

Abstract: Wireless communications systems may support user equipment (UE)-specific hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) timeline offsets such that transmission time intervals (TTIs) reserved for uplink HARQ transmissions are reserved on a per UE basis (e.g., TTIs are not reserved or designated on a network level or aligned across all or many UEs within the system). That is, UEs within a wireless communications system may employ a UE-specific offset for their respective HARQ timelines. UE-specific HARQ timeline offsets may be derived, by the UEs, explicitly or implicitly. Further, the network (e.g., a base station) may configure UE-specific HARQ timeline offsets to be distributed in time to avoid uplink HARQ transmission collisions between UEs, to eliminate the loss of TTIs for a second carrier operation (e.g., such as NR uplink) on a network wide basis, etc. The base station may then communicate with the UEs according to their corresponding UE-specific offset HARQ timelines.

Abstract: Control information may be identified and provided to a user equipment (UE) that is formatted into a codeword that is transmitted in a first symbol of a downlink transmission to the UE. The control information may include an allocation of downlink or uplink resources for the UE and data processing parameters. The control information may be partitioned into first control information transmitted in a first codeword and second control information that may be formatted into a second codeword. The second control information may be determined based at least in part on the data acknowledgment from the UE. Such partitioned control information may allow a base station to perform some processing related to transmissions for a transmission time interval (TTI) prior to the start of the TTI, and allow the base station to perform some processing for the TTI after the start of the TTI.

SEARCH SPACE DESIGN FOR CONTROL CHANNEL IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide various flexible search space designs that can handle UEs with various capabilities and limitations. In some aspects of the disclosure, the downlink bandwidth may be divided into several self-contained sub-bands. Each sub-band may include one or more OFDM subcarriers or tones, and each UE may be configured to monitor one or more of the sub-bands for its downlink control channel. The sub-band is self-contained in such a way that each sub-band includes CCEs that are mapped to resource elements contained in the same sub-band. In some aspects of the disclosure, different sub-bands can be configured with the different transmission modes and pilot densities. The transmission mode, pilot density, and layer-ID may be determined as a function of each UE's search space.
