Abstract: Coverage enhancements and coverage mode switching related optimizations are discussed for user equipments (UEs) that may switch between various coverage extension (CE) and non-CE modes of operation. In such enhancements, paging uncertainty and delays may be reduced by sending pages either simultaneously or using historical information over multiple coverage modes available to UEs. Random access procedures may be improved by providing CE mode random access procedures that are available when normal mode random access attempts fail and before declaring radio link failure. Additional aspects include improvements for more advanced UEs to improve coverage within normal mode operations by leveraging techniques used for narrowband CE mode operations, including transmission repetition and gapless transmission scheduling over hopped narrowband frequencies.

Abstract: New radio (NR) shared spectrum (NR-SS) listen before talk (LBT) gap optimizations are disclosed in which an indication, such as the preemption indicator, may provide an indication of a communications gap, in which preemptive communications may occur, to a user equipment (UE) currently engaged in communications, whether the preemptive communications are to another UE or network node or through different signal channels. The gap and preemptive communication may be measured in full symbol lengths, sub-symbol lengths, or interlaces. The communication gap may provide sufficient resources for the preempting node to adequately obtain the shared channel via listen before talk (LBT) procedures, and for the original UE to resume communications after the gap. The communication gap may also be optimally configured in order to provide both the UE and preempting node as much communication resources as possible within the scheduled communication opportunities.

A first wireless communication device identifies a first configuration from a plurality of configurations for mapping an uplink resource indicator to resources in a plurality of subbands. The first wireless communication device communicates with a second wireless communication device, a subband priority configuration. The first wireless communication device communicates, with the second wireless communication device, the uplink resource indicator. The first wireless communication device communicates, with the second wireless communication device, an uplink communication signal using a first resource of the resources based on the uplink resource indicator, the subband priority configuration, and the first configuration.

Abstract: Techniques are described herein for improved methods, systems, devices, and apparatuses that support procedures for configured grants. Generally, the described techniques may relate to restricting a number of retransmissions used during a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process or managing potential scheduling conflicts for the HARQ process from dynamic grants and configured grants. A device (e.g., a user equipment) may initiate a timer or a counter associated with a HARQ process for indicating that transmission attempts for the HARQ process are permitted. The device may identify a transmission occasion of a configured grant in an unlicensed frequency spectrum band that is associated with the HARQ process and may determine that the timer associated with the HARQ process is active. The device may perform a transmission attempt over the transmission occasion of the configured grant based on determining that the timer is active.

Abstract: In some aspects, a wireless node, such as a user equipment (UE), may measure a reference signal (RS) on a first group of RS resource sets, wherein each RS resource set in the first group of RS resource sets is associated with a different set of wireless nodes; may detect interference on a first RS resource set in the first group of RS resource sets, wherein the first RS resource set is associated with a first set of wireless nodes; and may measure RS on a second group of RS resource sets based at least in part on detecting the interference, wherein the second group of RS resource sets is determined based at least in part on the first RS resource set, and wherein each RS resource set of the second group of RS resource sets is associated with a subset of the first set of wireless nodes.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless communications system may support grants for uplink or downlink transmission over multiple transmission time intervals (TTIs). A multi-TTI grant may include a base grant and an extended grant that include separate information and may be transmitted simultaneously (e.g., within the same TTI) or separately. A grant type (e.g., whether a grant is a base grant or an extended grant) or an association between a base grant and an extended grant may be conveyed (e.g., via the multi-TTI grant). A downlink assignment index (DAI) may be included for one or more TTIs subject to the multi-TTI. For instance, DAI may be included for each TTI or for a subset of TTIs.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may receiving, from a base station, a synchronization signal block (SSB) of a set of quasi-collocated (QCL) SSBs, the SSB comprising an indication of a parameter indicating information associated with a plurality of downlink control channel locations corresponding to the set of QCL SSBs. The UE may determine, based at least in part on the parameter, the plurality of downlink control channel locations corresponding to the set of QCL SSBs. The UE may receive a downlink grant for a system information based at least in part on monitoring one or more downlink control channel locations of the plurality of downlink control channel locations. The UE may receive the system information based at least in part on the downlink grant. The UE may establish a connection with the base station based at least in part on the SSB and the received system information.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for group or one-shot acknowledgment (ACK) feedback reporting, in which feedback for a number of different downlink transmissions may be provided by a user equipment (UE) to a base station. A base station may trigger a one-shot feedback report that includes less than all of the ACK feedback that is available at the UE to provide in a report. The ACK feedback may include an indication of an ACK or a negative acknowledgement (NACK) along with information related to a data indicator associated with the downlink transmission. In some cases regular ACK feedback reports and one-shot feedback reports may be multiplexed and transmitted by a UE. Further, a last downlink transmission to be included in a one-shot feedback report may be determined based on a receipt time of scheduling information or an ACK feedback timeline.

Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to performing adaptive autonomous uplink (UL) communications are provided. A first wireless communication device receives, from a second wireless communication device, an autonomous uplink transmission configuration. The first wireless communication device determines a transmission parameter in response to a link adaptation parameter based on the autonomous uplink transmission configuration. The first wireless communication device transmits, to the second wireless communication device, an autonomous uplink communication signal based on the determined transmission parameter.
