Abstract: Duplicated physical layer convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) transmission is described for a wireless device with reduced peak-to-average power ratios (PAPR). One example includes obtaining a first sub-PPDU from to PPDU that includes a data field with data content. A second sub-PPDU may also be obtained by duplicating the PPDU including the data content of the PPDU. At least one of a phase rotation, a phase offset, or a phase ramp is applied to at least a portion of a second set of sub-carrier of a wideband channel. The first sub-PPDU is transmitted on a first set of sub-carriers of the wideband channel and the second sub-PPDU is transmitted on the second set of sub-carriers of the wideband channel.

Abstract: A technique for wireless communication of a punctured null data packet with a long training field sequence is disclosed. The long training field (LTF) sequence is generated for the null data packet (NDP) for transmission over a channel having a bandwidth that is an integer multiple of 80 MHz. The LTF sequence is modulated onto a plurality of tones of the channel excluding tones within a punctured subchannel of a plurality of subchannels of the channel. The modulation may be based on a size and location of the punctured subchannel and a symbol duration associated with transmitting the LTF sequence. The NDP is transmitted including the LTF sequence to a second wireless communication device via the channel. A partial bandwidth feedback may be received in response to the LTF in the punctured NDP.

Abstract: Various aspects relate generally to the generation and wireless transmission of a long training field (LTF) and a data field within a 320 MHz or 240 MHz bandwidth channel. The LTF includes an LTF sequence based on a concatenation of a plurality of LTF subsequences, each LTF subsequence being associated with a channel bandwidth less than the total bandwidth of the channel, each of the plurality of LTF subsequences being selectively phase-rotated to reduce a peak-to-average power ratio. Each of the plurality of LTF subsequences may be associated with an LTF designed for an 80 MHz bandwidth channel. The LTF and the data field may then be transmitted in a wireless packet to at least one second wireless communication device via the 320 MHz or 240 MHz bandwidth channel.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for group formation and sounding for distributed multi-user multiple input multiple output (MU-MIMO). Some implementations include a method of wireless communication. The method includes transmitting, from a first access point of a plurality of access points, an announcement frame for performing a beamforming procedure for a distributed transmission. The distributed transmission includes a transmission from the plurality of access points. The announcement frame includes at least one identifier of a user terminal in a different basic service set than a basic service set of the first access point. The method further includes transmitting a packet for measuring a channel. The method further includes receiving feedback information from the user terminal based on the packet for measuring the channel. The method further includes transmitting the distributed transmission using the beamforming procedure.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for encoding data for wireless transmissions. In one aspect, a wireless device may encode a number (M) of systematic bits for transmission to a receiving device. The systematic bits may be encoded using a low-density parity-check (LDPC) code to produce an LDPC codeword. The LDPC codeword may include a number (N) of codeword bits, including the M systematic bits and one or more parity bits. The wireless device may further puncture a number (K) of the codeword bits to produce a punctured codeword having a code rate M/(N−K)>5/6. The wireless device may transmit the N−K remaining codeword bits, over a wireless channel, to a receiving device.

Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices, and systems for a wireless communication device to perform signal phase rotation. In some implementations, the wireless communication device may determine a number of phase rotation parameters to be applied to a number of tones of a transmission signal. In some aspects, each of the phase rotation parameters indicates a phase rotation to be applied to each of the tones according to a carrier index range for each of the tones and a bandwidth mode for the transmission signal. In some implementations, the wireless communication device may apply the phase rotation parameters to respective ones of the tones according to the specified phase rotations and the carrier index ranges, and transmit the transmission signal from the wireless communication device according to the applied phase rotation parameters.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides various aspects related to techniques for generating trigger frames, at an access point (AP), that reduce the overhead associated with triggering an uplink transmission from the wireless station (STA). Features of the present disclosure achieve this by, for example, utilizing a single per-user information field of the trigger to signal a plurality of random access resource units that may be allocated to the one or more STAs in the network. Such a technique is an improvement over the conventional system that require each random access resource unit to be signaled separately in a separate per-user information field (thus increasing the overhead). Additionally, aspects of the present disclosure allow the AP to effectively signal to the STA whether the one or more resources allocated to the at least one STA are a single user resource unit allocation or a multi-user resource unit allocation.

Abstract: This disclosure generally relates to systems, devices, apparatuses, products, and methods for signaling communication characteristics between wireless devices. In one implementation, a first wireless communication device may determine that a trigger frame will allocate one or more resource units for communications by one or more stations unassociated with the first wireless communication device. The first wireless communication device adds an indication of a reference channel associated with the first wireless communication device or a basic service set (BSS) color indication to the trigger frame. The trigger frame is output for transmission to one or more other wireless communication devices. A receiving device may then identify the reference channel or the BSS color indication from the trigger frame and use this information for communication with the first wireless communication device.
