Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine that a control resource set (CORESET) is not configured for an active downlink bandwidth part of a component carrier (CC) of the UE. The UE may determine that a transmission configuration indication (TCI) state is not activated for a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) of the active downlink bandwidth part of the CC. The UE may determine a default spatial relation for an uplink control channel or uplink signal for the CC based at least in part on determining that the CORESET is not configured for the active downlink bandwidth part of the CC and that the TCI state is not activated for the PDSCH of the active downlink bandwidth part of the CC. Abstract: Control for multi-panel user equipment (MPUE) activation may be performed by both the MPUE and a base station. The MPUE may have at least a first panel and a second panel. The MPUE may send to the base station, a request to change an activation status of at least one panel of the MPUE. The base station may transmit a response indicating whether the request has been approved. The MPUE may change the activation status of the panel according to the response. Conversely, the MPUE may receive a command from the base station to change an activation status of at least one panel of the MPUE. The MPUE may determine whether to follow the command or override the command. The MPUE may transmit a response indicating whether the MPUEUE has followed the command or overridden the command.

Abstract: A UE detects a beam failure on a first CC. The UE determines whether to transmit a BFRQ to a base station on the first CC or a second CC. The UE determines whether to include a NBI report in the BFRQ. The UE transmits the BFRQ to the base station on the first CC or the second CC. The base station receives a BFRQ from a UE on a first CC or a second CC. The base station determines a new beam for the first CC, where the determination of the new beam is based on a RACH procedure when the BFRQ is received on the first CC or a NBI report in the BFRQ when the BFRQ is received on the second CC. The base station initiates a BFR procedure with the UE for the first CC based on the BFRQ and the new beam determination.
