    Abstract: Aspects relate to techniques for activating transmission configuration indicator (TCI) states based on a TCI state update list including a plurality of component carriers. A TCI state activation message for a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) can include two TCI states for single frequency network (SFN) operation of a control resource set (CORESET) associated with a serving cell ID. A user equipment (UE) may receive the TCI state activation message and activate at least one of the two TCI states for each component carrier in the TCI state update list in response to the TCI state update list including the serving cell ID and based on a respective SFN configuration of each of the component carriers.

    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) and a base station (BS) may transmit reference signals (RS) for the other device to estimate a channel and perform measurements. This disclosure provides for a UE to request a reference signal such as a channel state information (CSI) or a sounding reference signal (SRS). The BS transmits a radio resource control (RRC) message that configures the UE with one or more trigger states for CSI, SRS, or a combination thereof and a media access control (MAC) control element (CE) that activates a subset of the configured trigger states. In one aspect, the UE transmits an uplink request that indicates a trigger state for the UE. corresponding to at least one configured RS. The UE and the BS communicate the at least one RS corresponding to the trigger state for example, based on a grant from the BS or a time offset from the uplink request.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may fail to successfully receive (e.g., fail to receive, or decode) a downlink transmission. In order to suggest a solution for the reception issue to a base station, the UE may detect a reason for the failed reception. The UE may transmit, to the base station, an indication that the UE failed to decode the transmission and may receive, in response, a grant for transmission of a channel state information (CSI) report including resources allocated for an indication of the error reason. The UE may use these resources to indicate the error reason to the base station, and the base station may perform a radio link adaptation action to mitigate the error based on the error reason. In some examples, the UE may suggest the radio link adaptation action to the base station.
