    Abstract: A sidelink device can perform a network coded sidelink transmission without increasing resource overhead by using resources originally reserved for retransmission of a packet, The sidelink device can reuse the reserved resources when retransmission is not needed based on feedback of the initial sidelink transmission. In one aspect, the sidelink device can use reserved retransmission resources to transmit a network coded transmission of sidelink data received from other sidelink devices. In one aspect, the sidelink device can use the reserved retransmission resources to transmit a network coded transmission including a retransmission of the sidelink device's own sidelink data and sidelink data from other devices.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for receiver side protection in sidelink communications. In certain aspects, a method performed by an apparatus generally includes obtaining, from a first user equipment (UE), first control information, which includes a first resource allocation information of one or more resources allocated for transmission by the first UE to the apparatus and an indication of a first cell associated with the first UE. A wireless communication device can transmit a first SL-PRS resource reservation message within resources in a SL communication resource pool.     Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. To improve sidelink reservation schemes, a first user equipment (UE) may receive, from a second UE, a coordination message indicating a set of resources associated with sidelink communications and a preference of the second UE for one or more subsets of the set of resources. The first UE may transmit the sidelink communications using one or more resources of the set of resources based on the preference of the second UE for the one or more subsets of the set of resources. In some examples, the one or more resources may be selected from candidate resources within a resource selection window of the first UE. Additionally, or alternatively, the candidate resources may be based on the preference of the second UE.
