    摘要: Electromagnetic relay having a coil-wound bobbin with flanges at each end, a reed mounted on one flange and extending through the bobbin, fixed contacts mounted on the other flange cooperating with a free end of the reed, and a casing formed by a base and a cover. An upwardly projecting peripheral wall is provided on the base, and the lower edge of the cover engages the peripheral wall. Coil, reed and contact terminals extend through bores formed in the casing base. Grooves in the lower side of the base communicate with the bores and with the lower ends of passages which emerge at the peripheral wall. Sealant filled in the grooves simultaneously seals the terminals in the bores and the cover to the base. When the cover engages the interior of the peripheral wall, webs provided on the upper side of the casing base confine the sealant to the bores and to pockets provided at the outer side of the cover. The bobbin flange interior has a separator against which the fixed contacts abut to define the spacing between the fixed contacts. The separator also defines the spacing between the free end of the reed and a permanent magnet which cooperates with pole shoes connected to the fixed contacts.

    摘要: An electromagnetic relay is provided with a high current "boost" coil, a lower current normal operating or "seal" coil and a static, electronic circuit that functions under low voltage conditions to energize the boost coil to retain the relay closed. An additional function of this static, electronic circuit is to energize the boost coil for a time interval on initial power application in order to assist in closing the relay, and this time interval automatically varies in the correct direction with variation in the supply voltage available to the coil so that the lower such available voltage is from its normal value, the longer the boosting time interval. At other times, both coils are energized in series at low current to hold the relay closed. This static, electronic circuit is small enough to be integrally incorporated within the housing of a conventional sealed power relay.

    摘要: A sealed contact relay for use in industrial control systems includes a solid state digital programmable timer which controls the operation of a timed relay coil. An instantaneous relay coil is also included and each of the coils operates two sealed contact switches which are contained in field replaceable cartridges. A timing light indicates the state of the timed relay coil and it blinks while the digital programmable timer is timing. The timer mode and the duration of the timed interval are selected by placing a uniquely molded insert into a four-pole switch receptacle.

    摘要: A miniature relay having an electromagnet assembly including a coil carried by a magnetic frame member which assembly is supported on a non-magnetic coil support member which in turn is secured to a header containing an arrangement of stationary and movable contacts and terminal pins. The magnetic frame member includes a core extending through and slightly beyond the coil and a pole piece outwardly adjacent the coil. An armature is held in position by the cooperation of spaced-apart holding elements depending from the electromagnet assembly which saddle a recess area in the armature, and a return spring carried by the header continuously urges the armature into saddle defined by the holding elements. The pull-in force of the electromagnet is enhanced by a mating tab and notch configuration of the pole piece and armature or by an end portion of the pole piece disposed to present increased surface area facing the armature.

    摘要: A switching apparatus of the kind in which contact bridges held in a contact bridge carrier in tiers, one behind the other, as seen in the switching direction, can be brought into contact with fixed contact members fastened to a single housing part. In particular, with the number of the bridges in the individual tiers uneven in number, the walls of the housing, which form at least in part the arcing chambers for the contact points of the contact members, extend into slots of the contact bridge carrier to form labyrinths and, at least one of said walls extends over only one tier. Additionally, the contact points of the upper tier are arranged, preferably, in recesses of the contact bridge carrier.The present switching apparatus has the advantage that it permits accomodating in one molded housing, for instance, three main switch poles and four auxiliary switch poles.

    摘要: An electric coil is coupled across a pair of normally closed electric contacts which are attached to two electric terminals. The contacts and terminals are supported by pockets in an insulating base member which also supports a bobbin upon which the electric coil is wound. Each terminal is supported within its pocket by a pair of spaced legs having projecting spurs which bite into the margins of the pockets and prevent the terminals from being withdrawn. An armature is pivotally mounted over one end of the coil, and an actuating arm is attached to the armature for opening the contacts in response to a predetermined amount of movement by an object in contact with the actuating arm. This energizes the coil by removing the short circuit around it and causes the armature to buzz until the coil is de-energized.

    摘要: A contact socket for electrical devices including a base member made from insulating material and having an opening in the form of an elongated window opening to one side of the base member and leading to an enlarged diameter chamber opening to the opposite side of the base member. The chamber terminates into a reduced diameter neck portion leading along a portion of the window for receiving a narrowed neck of a contact member. The contact member has a widened portion longer than the elongated window and has a shoulder engaging the top of the base member, a narrower portion fitting in the elongated window and a connecting portion leading from the narrower portion. A pair of wings extend radially from the connecting portion beneath the narrower portion. The enlarged diameter chamber has oppositely inclined top surfaces converging to an apex. When the contact member is inserted in the socket through the window with the shoulder abutting the top of the base, the wings will lie along the apex of the chamber and, as twisted, will engage the inclined surfaces of the top wall of the chamber and be cammed thereby to tighten the contact member in the window and bring the shoulder in firm engagement with the top of the base. An insulating compound can be inserted into the chamber to seal the window and the solder side of the contact member.

    摘要: Two relays and a push-to-start switch are mounted together on a common frame within a common housing. The cores and coils for the devices are mounted in spaced parallel relationship on the frame. Three legs which extend from one side of the frame are supported adjacent an edge of an insulated terminal strip which latter supports the terminals, contacts, and contact arms for the devices. Two legs which extend at right angles to the firstmentioned legs and which are bent from spaces therebetween are received by slots in a base plate which is also slotted to receive portions of the terminal strip and the frame to support the same. Recesses are formed in the housing member adjacent to the base plate to allow insulated conductors to enter the housing. The recesses contain teeth that bite into the insulation over the conductors to prevent them from being moved longitudinally.
