    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A network access device may select a search space configuration for transmission of group(s) of one or more control channel elements (CCEs) to convey a downlink control information (DCI) message. The search space configuration may include a cross-coreset configuration, such as a cross-control channel subband configuration, a cross-symbol configuration, and/or a cross-beam configuration. The network access device may transmit the DCI message according to the selected search space configuration. A user equipment (UE) may monitor, based on the search space configuration, the group(s) of one or more CCEs to detect DCI messages. The UE may detect a DCI message for it and decode the DCI message based on the monitoring. Numerous other aspects are provided.

    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a wireless communication device may determine a component carrier configuration for a primary cell of the wireless communication device, wherein the wireless communication device is configured for dual connectivity with regard to a 4G/Long Term Evolution (LTE) network and a 5G/New Radio network; and apply a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) timing configuration for a secondary cell of the wireless communication device based at least in part on the component carrier configuration.     Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A communication device, otherwise known as a user equipment (UE) may receive a downlink control information (DCI) message including an indication to enable discontinuous monitoring of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH). The UE may enable the discontinuous monitoring of the PDCCH based on the received DCI message, and disable monitoring of the PDCCH during a temporal period in which at least one of physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) reception, downlink reference signal monitoring, uplink reference signal transmissions, and channel reporting is enabled. The UE may thereby experience power saving by disabling monitoring of the PDCCH while still performing other wireless operations during the temporal period. The UE may, as a result, also include features for improvements to wireless communications and, in some examples, may promote high reliability and low latency wireless communications, among other benefits.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for allocating a number of physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) blind decoding candidates to a user equipment (UE) in dual connectivity mode. An example method generally includes allocating a resource budget among a first cell group and a second cell group, wherein the resource budget includes a number of physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) blind decoding candidates and a number of control channel elements (CCEs) supported by the UE, and monitoring for PDCCH candidates in the first cell group and second cell group in accordance with the allocated resource budget.

    Abstract: Some techniques and apparatuses described herein permit a user equipment (UE) to transition among different power settings for different parameters that impact the amount of power consumed by the UE. Such transitions may be configured to occur during a discontinuous reception (DRX) active time to provide power savings during the DRX active time or increase throughput during the DRX active time. In some aspects, the transitions may be signaled by a base station based at least in part on traffic volume for the UE, which may assist with improving throughput (e.g., when data is available for the UE), and which may assist with extending battery life of the UE (e.g., when data is not available for the UE). In some aspects, such transitions and associated parameter values may be preconfigured or a transition may be triggered by expiration of a timer, thereby reducing signaling overhead.
