    Abstract: Improved positioning resolution and latency may be achieved via physical layer signaling between a mobile device (UE) and a base station. The physical layer procedures may aid target UEs in enhancing their positioning accuracy and latency, and/or reducing network overhead while boosting UE power efficiency. Accordingly, a base station may receive, via physical layer signaling from a UE, a request for positioning-resources, for example in response to a determination that current positioning-resources of the UE need to be adjusted. The base station may responsively transmit, via physical layer signaling to the UE, an indication of adjusted positioning-resources, and may optionally transmit an indication of corresponding allocated grant-resources. The base station may receive, via physical layer signaling from the UE, positioning information resulting from positioning measurements performed by the UE according to the adjusted positioning-resources. The base station may optionally receive the positioning information on the corresponding allocated grant-resources.

    Abstract: Techniques discussed herein can facilitate integrated sensing and communication (ISC), where a wireless network is used for both sensing and for wireless communications. One example aspect is sensing function entity configured to receive a sensing service request from an access and mobility function (AMF) entity, where the sensing service request is received by an access and mobility function/sensing function (AMF/SF) interface. The SF entity is further configured to transmit, by the AMF/SF interface, a sensing service response to the AMF entity and subsequently receive sensing data associated with the sensing service response, where the sensing data is received by a base station/sensing function (BS/SF) interface. The SF entity is further configured to process the sensing data, and transmit the sensing response after processing the sensing data.

    Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for positioning reference signals (PRSs) for reduced capacity devices, e.g., in 5G NR systems and beyond. A UE may report, to a network (e.g., to a base station or an LMF) one or more capabilities associated with a positioning procedure for location estimation, e.g., such as a radio frequency retuning time, a parameter indicating a number of bandwidth switches needed by the UE to cover an effective bandwidth and a duration of downlink positioning reference signal symbols, N, that the UE can process in an indicated time period, T, and/or a processing bandwidth, among other parameters. The UE may be configured to transmit a reference signal configuration for the positioning procedure. The reference signal configuration may support frequency hopping with tone-overlap. The reference signal configuration may include an indication of a repetition factor and/or an indication of a frequency hopping factor. In addition, the UE may be configured to perform reference signal measurements, e.g., based on the reference signal configuration.
