Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support backscatter-based positioning. In a first aspect, a method of wireless communication includes receiving a tag device indicator that indicates a tag capability of a tag device. The method also includes generating a tag configuration associated with transmission of a backscatter signal based on a positioning reference signal (PRS). The tag configuration indicates a frequency shifting parameter based on a frequency shifting capability of a tag device, a phase scrambling parameter based on a phase scrambling capability of the tag device, or a combination thereof. The method further includes transmitting the tag configuration. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: A method of wireless communication performed by a first transmission device includes determining a set of spectrum sharing parameters based on sensing performed during a sensing period of a current time slot in a fixed contention based spectrum sharing system. The first transmission device shares a spectrum with a second transmission device. The method also includes determining, at a first artificial neural network of the first transmission device, a transmission device action, and/or a transmission parameter in response to receiving the set of spectrum sharing parameters. The method further includes transmitting, from the first transmission device, to a first receiving device during a data transmission phase of the current time slot based on the transmission device action and/or the transmission parameter.

Abstract: A wireless communication system is provided allowing a base station to indicate RTT compensation for UEs to adjust their local time clocks to correct propagation delay timing errors and synchronize with the global clock of a base station. A base station sends a downlink transmission including timing information to a UE and receives an uplink transmission from the UE after the downlink transmission. The base station determines a RTT compensation associated with the timing information based on a RTT between the downlink transmission and the uplink transmission. The base station then transmits the RTT compensation to the UE. UEs are thus allowed to synchronize at a high precision with the time clock of the base station. UEs may be configured with different resolutions or granularities in timing correction so that certain UEs can achieve high precision timing correction while other UEs can adjust their time clocks with less precision.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to apparatus and methods of monitoring a region by a transmitting device within a wireless medium for transmissions using at least one directional beam covering the region. Upon determining that the region in the wireless medium is free of transmissions, the transmitting device transmits to a plurality of wireless devices in the region using a plurality of spatially separated directional beams. Other aspects of the disclosure relate to apparatus and methods for receiving an instruction, e.g., at a user equipment (UE), to perform a channel assessment at a first time. The UE monitors a region within a wireless medium for transmissions after receiving the instruction. Upon determining that the region is free of transmissions, the UE may send an acknowledgment of the received instruction.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that asynchronous carrier aggregation, including between high frequency band and lower frequency band transmissions. A user equipment (UE) may be configured to monitor transmissions in a first frequency band and a second frequency band. The UE may measure a timing difference between transmissions in the first frequency band and one or more of the transmissions in the second frequency band, and transmit an indication of the timing difference to a base station. The base station may use the timing difference to determine whether the UE is to use asynchronous carrier aggregation. If the base station determines that the UE is to use asynchronous carrier aggregation, the base station may configure the UE to observe at least a minimum amount of delay when conducting uplink signaling via one of the frequency bands.
