Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A plurality of Ethernet devices may transmit Ethernet frames through a cellular network. The Ethernet devices may be coupled to the cellular network via a cellular node. The cellular node may receiver Ethernet frames from the Ethernet devices, identify a traffic class to the Ethernet frames, and map the Ethernet frames to bearers based at least in part on the traffic classes. The cellular node may transmit the Ethernet frames to other cellular nodes using the bearers. At a core network, a mapping between the cellular node and the MAC addresses of the associated Ethernet devices may be stored to allow Ethernet frames to be routed through the cellular network.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In an example, a method includes a first node receiving a precision time protocol (PTP) message, identifying one or more timing domains to be supported by the first node based at least in part on the PTP message, and sending, to a second node of the wireless communication network, an indicator of the one or more timing domains to be supported by the first node. Another example at a node includes receiving, from additional nodes of the wireless communication network, indicators of one or more timing domains supported by the additional nodes, receiving a PTP message associated with a timing domain, and sending the PTP message to a subset of the additional nodes based at least in a part on the indicators of one or more timing domains supported by the additional nodes.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In an example ingress point of a wireless communication network, a method includes receiving a first ethernet frame comprising a precision time protocol (PTP) message at a first node and determining an ingress time for the PTP message, generating a packet data unit (PDU) for transmission to a second node of the wireless communication network based at least in part on the first ethernet frame by overwriting a field in the PTP message with a value corresponding to the ingress time, and sending the PDU to the second node. An egress point method may include receiving a PDU comprising a PTP message, determining an ingress time from a field in the PTP message overwritten with a value corresponding to the ingress time, and determining an adjustment for a timing parameter based at least in part on the ingress time.

Abstract: Local IP access is provided in a wireless network to facilitate access to one or more local services. In some implementations, different IP interfaces are used for accessing different services (e.g., local services and operator network services). A list that maps packet destinations to IP interfaces may be employed to determine which IP interface is to be used for sending a given packet. In some implementations an access point provides a proxy function (e.g., a proxy ARP function) for an access terminal. In some implementations an access point provides an agent function (e.g., a DHCP function) for an access terminal. NAT operations may be performed at an access point to enable the access terminal to access local services. In some aspects, an access point may determine whether to send a packet from an access terminal via a protocol tunnel based on the destination of the packet.

A user equipment (UE) may obtain a timing synchronization signal from a base station over a cellular wireless communication link. The UE may configure, based at least in part on the timing synchronization signal, a timer function of the UE as a precision time protocol (PTP) server. The UE may configure a PTP announce message based on the timer function and, in some examples, one or more metrics of the cellular wireless communication link. The UE may transmit the PTP announce message over a local communication network.

Abstract: Device provisioning (e.g., enrollment, configuration, and/or authentication) of a client device with a network device may be improved. A client device may receive a first nonce and a network public key associated with the network device. The client device may generate a second nonce and provide the second nonce with an authentication request having at least a portion that is derived from a shared key. The shared key may be based on the first nonce, the second nonce, the network public key, and a client private key. A configurator device may assist in the transfer of nonces or keys. Following the authentication process, the client device may be configured for use with the network device to gain access to other network resources. In this manner, permission to gain access to the network device can be transparent to the user, often without the user having to enter codes or passwords.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for configuring a wireless station for use within a wireless local area network are disclosed. In at least one exemplary embodiment, a pairwise master key is generated by the wireless station and an access point within the wireless local area network. The pairwise master key may be based, at least in part, on a transient identity key pair of the wireless station. The transient identity key pair may be generated by the wireless station in response to receiving a message from the access point. In some embodiments, a public transient identity key of the transient identity key pair may be provided to additional access points to enable the wireless station to authenticate with the additional access points.

Abstract: Embodiments include systems and methods for managing resource consumption by a processor of a wireless access point. The processor may monitor associations and dissociations of one or more client devices with the access point, and may monitor a network load of the access point. The processor may determine whether the network load is below a load threshold, and may determine radio capabilities of one or more client devices associated with the access point. The processor may select a radio of the access point based on the determined radio capabilities of one or more client devices associated with the access point, and may place the selected radio of the access point in a low-power mode.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for load balancing network traffic in a wireless network. In one aspect, an access point may determine a plurality of client devices that are associated with an overloaded channel of the wireless network. The access point may identify a first client device of the plurality of client devices based, at least in part, on an airtime consumed on the overloaded channel. The access point may determine one or more alternate paths between the access point and the first client device. The access point may forecast airtime to be used by the first client device on channels of the one or more alternate paths, and steer wireless network traffic of the first client device to a first alternate path of the one or more alternate paths based, at least in part, on the forecasted airtime.
