    Abstract: Bandwidth part (BWP) configurations supporting various communication approaches (e.g., full duplex and/or half duplex operations) are described. Full duplex (FD) frequency-based BWP configurations may, for example, be configured as a subset of defined BWP resources for supporting full duplex operation by base stations and/or user equipments (UEs). Usable bandwidth of a FD frequency-based BWP configuration may be selected from half duplex frequency-based BWPs in legacy BWPs. Bandwidths of usable BWPs for a FD frequency-based BWP configuration may be selected so as to be non-overlapping in frequency. Transition between configurations and modes (e.g., between full duplex frequency-based BWP configurations, between half duplex and full duplex modes, etc.) may be managed to avoid periods in which a communication device cannot perform any uplink or downlink transmissions due to switching between defined BWP configurations, or otherwise reduces BWP switching time. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

    Abstract: User equipments (UEs) with reduced capabilities may need a relaxed processing timeline relative to standard UEs. The relaxed processing timeline may provide UEs with reduced capabilities an appropriate amount of time (e.g., during a random access procedure) to decode messages from a base station (BS) and/or to prepare uplink messages. Aspects of the disclosure relate to a UE configured to transmit a message to a serving BS, the message including a request for timeline relaxation for transmission of a subsequent message, the message and the subsequent message being associated with a random access procedure. The UE may receive a response message associated with the random access procedure and indicating one or more timing offsets corresponding to the timeline relaxation. The UE may transmit the subsequent message to the serving BS based on the one or more timing offsets indicated by the serving BS. The subsequent message acknowledges the response message.

    Abstract: A wireless communication network includes a user equipment (UE) to receive a set of instructions, from a base station, to perform a simultaneous change of a set of current bandwidth parts (BWPs) to a set of new BWPs in a set of cells. The set of instructions schedules set of slots for the UE to receive and/or transmit a set of downlink and/or uplink signals via the set of new BWPs, respectively. The UE also determines a delay associated with performing the simultaneous change of the set of current BWPs to the set of new BWPs, respectively, and determines whether it is able to receive and/or transmit the set of downlink and/or uplink signals via the set of new BWPs in the set of slots satisfying the delay, respectively. A base station is also included to communicate with the UE to effectuate the aforementioned operation.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may determine a mapping between synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) and a random access message of a two-step random access procedure based on an indication in system information signaling or radio resource control (RRC) signaling. The random access message may include a random access preamble and a random access payload. The UE may determine, based on the mapping, an association between one or more beams carrying the SSBs and one or more additional beams carrying the random access preamble and the random access payload of the random access message. As a result, the UE may perform the two-step random access procedure with a base station according to the beam association, and coexist with a four-step random access procedure in a more reliable and efficient manner.
