摘要: A gravimetric system for feeding flowable, solid, particulate materials includes an open-topped trough receiving the material from a hopper at one end and discharging it from the other end at a desired rate in terms of weight per unit of time. The trough is formed in two, longitudinally aligned and continuous sections with a rotatable auger extending through the hopper and trough to move the material from the hopper to the discharge end of the trough. The first trough section is fixedly supported and the second section is supported at two spaced points on each side in an essentially frictionless manner by contact of pointed terminal ends of upwardly extending pins with conical recesses in blocks affixed to the sides of the second trough section. One pair of supports, one on each side of the second trough section remote from the end adjacent the first section, is connected to a load cell, whereby the weight of material in this portion of the trough is reflected in an electrical signal which controls the auger speed to adjust the rate of material feed to the desired discharge rate.

摘要: An automatic bagging machine and method gently and efficiently handle bruisable articles to be automatically bagged, such as apples. The bagger includes a weighing pan, a bag supply, a source of compressed air for inflating a plastic bag while it is held open at spaced points adjacent its top, and a cushioning arm assembly for engaging the exterior of the bag as it is being filled with articles to cushion the fall of the articles. A piston and cylinder moves the cushioning arm into engagement with the bag exterior while it is being filled, and away from the bag after the fall of articles has been effectively broken (cushioned). A number of conveyors that are independently controlled feed articles to the pan, and an ultrasound sensor senses the volume of the next article or articles to be fed to the pan in each conveyor path, and that conveyor or conveyors is or are operated which contains the next article or articles closest to the desired weight of articles in the pan, or slightly above it. After being filled, the bag is moved by a pair of spaced grippers in a horizontal plane, with at least a slight twist imparted to the bag as it is moved, so that the open top of the bag at least starts to move to be closed. The open top is then moved into operative association with an automatic tier, and tied closed.

摘要: A control for a transport mechanism vibrating tray scale that conveys flats on and off of the platform of the tray. The scale supports a follower plate that has ramps which contact with the rollers of the transport mechanism. The follower plate is also in contact with a cam which upon rotation cause the follower plate to move within the scale. As the follower plate is moved, the rollers of the transport mechanism will move into and out an opening of the scale platform, depending upon direction of movement of the follower plate.

摘要: A two-stage auger system for filling a valve bag with a particulate material, such as dry powdered or granular material, from a hopper through a valved opening in the bag. The auger system includes a first hollow shaft carrying flights dimensioned and pitched for low speed movement of the particulate material out of the hopper and a second shaft extending through and protruding from the first shaft carrying flights on its protruding portion dimensioned and pitched for higher speed movement of the particulate material from the first mentioned flights. A filling tube is provided to cooperate with the second shaft for higher speed discharge of the particulate material through the filling tube into the bag through the valved opening. Bearings are provided to rotationally seat the second shaft member within the first shaft member on opposite ends of the first shaft member so that the second shaft member can rotate within the first shaft member. A sealing member is provided for sealing the bearings to prevent material from reaching the bearings as well as a drive member for rotating the two shafts. Variably dimensioned and pitched flights are also positioned between the flights of the first and second shafts on the second shaft to carry material between the flights of the first and second shafts, scrape material from the inner wall of the hopper, and direct material away from the sealing means.

摘要: A combinational weighing system with a plurality of article batch handling means has an article feeding means for feeding articles to be weighed into the individual article batch handling means, and after a desired combination or weights within a preselected range is determined by a computer, the article batches from the selected article batch handling means are discharged together to be made into a package. The system also includes a means for measuring the weight of the article accumulated on the article feeding means and the output signal from such a weight-measuring means is transmitted to control the operation of a conveyor for supplying the articles to the article feeding means.

摘要: An automatic powder dispensing and measuring apparatus which automatically and rapidly and accurately delivers a preselected amount of powder such as gun powder to a scale. The powder dispensing apparatus is preferably in the form of screw threaded barrels rotatably driven by an electric motor which pick up powder from a chamber and dispense it from the end of the barrel to a scale. An electronic circuit controls the rotation speed of the screw threaded barrels in response to sensing means which cause no mechanical resistance to scale motion, positioned to sense the weight being measured by the scale. As the scale approaches the precise preselected amount of powder the electronic circuit responds by slowing the rotational rate of at least one of the screw threaded barrels to slow the feed rate and stop the rotation and flow of powder when the weight the scale reaches the precise preselected amount.

摘要: The present invention relates to a weighing device consisting of a feeder mounted on a framework placed below the discharging end of a conveyor loaded with the object to be weighed, such as peanuts, the feeder being equipped with a feed measurement device, and facing pool hoppers adjacent to the feeder or directly facing measure hoppers supported on load cells mounted on the framework. The present invention relates especially to a weighing device in which the feed measurement device consists of a weight measuring device such as a load cell, which is placed in between the feeder and the framework to support the feeder, and which controls the switching on and off of the drive, such as a motor, for the conveyor through a control unit including an amplifier and a low-pass filter.

摘要: A dispersion feeder for distributively feeding product to a plurality of weighing units arranged circularly about a common axis, comprising a plurality of conveyer troughs arranged radially about the axis for communicating by their outer ends respectively with the weighing units, and a plurality of vibrating units attached respectively to the conveyer troughs for subjecting each conveyer trough to independent vibration. Each conveyer trough is provided with a projection inclined upwardly and radially inwardly toward the common axis. These projections are arranged radially about the axis without mutual contact to form a conical or domed substantially continuous central dispersion surface, and each projection and its corresponding conveyor trough is adapted to be subjected to independent vibration to feed product supplied directly onto the dispersion surface to the corresponding conveyer trough.

摘要: A combinatorial weighing apparatus has a plurality of pool hoppers associated with automatic weighing units, respectively, for weighing batches of articles which have been supplied from a supply unit into the pool hoppers. After the batches of articles have weight, which is close to preset weights, the batches of articles are fed into weighing hoppers. Weight values obtained by the weighing hoppers are computed in various combinations by a computer to find the combination of weights which is equal or closest to a preset weight.
