Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine an average energy level radiated by the UE over a time period. The UE may determine whether the average energy level radiated by the UE over the time period exceeds a maximum permissible exposure (MPE) limit. The UE may transmit, to base station, a medium access control (MAC) control element (MAC-CE) that includes information related to a power management maximum power reduction (P-MPR) applied at the UE and/or an uplink duty cycle in effect at the UE based at least in part on the average energy level radiated by the UE over the time period exceeding the MPE limit. Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for responding to a maximum permissible exposure (MPE) condition in uplink communications. In one aspect, a user equipment (UE) wireless device may detect an MPE condition associated with a cell in an uplink channel from the UE in the wireless communication network. The UE may configure a medium access control layer control element (MAC-CE) to indicate information related to the cell associated with the detected MPE condition and an alternative beam that avoids an MPE condition for use in uplink communications. The configured MAC-CE may include a synchronization signal/physical broadcast channel resource block indicator (SSBRI) or a channel state information resource indicator (CRI) that indicates an alternative UE panel, a feasible UE panel, Tx beam for UL transmissions or Tx beam for UL transmissions taking into account the detected MPE condition.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit a scheduling request to a base station using the dedicated uplink resources. The UE may transmit the scheduling request to indicate that a group of UEs requests uplink resources for an uplink data transmission. As a result, the UE may receive downlink control information from a base station which includes corresponding uplink resources allocated to the UE based on the scheduling request. The UE may use the allocated uplink resources to transmit uplink data to the base station.
