    摘要: A method of manufacturing an annular material includes: a forging process of making a discoid forged material by forging an alloy material; and a ring rolling process of making an annular material by performing ring rolling on an annular intermediate made by forming a through-hole in the forged material. In the forging process, hot forging which achieves an absolute value εθ1 of a strain in a circumferential direction of the forged material that is greater than or equal to 0.3, an absolute value εh of a strain in a height direction of the forged material that is greater than or equal to 0.3, and a ratio εh/εθ1 between the absolute values of the strains that is in a range of 0.4 to 2.5 is performed at least two or more times.

    摘要: In an annular member forming apparatus including: a forming roll rotatable in contact with an outer cylindrical surface of an annular workpiece; a mandrel relatively movable towards and away from the forming roll in contact with an inner cylindrical surface of the workpiece; and an outside diameter detecting device for detecting an outside diameter of the workpiece which is to be worked, the apparatus further includes a moving device for moving relatively the forming roll and the mandrel and for pressing the workpiece by the forming roll and the mandrel moved towards each other to subject the workpiece to rough rolling and to finish rolling. The moving device includes a retracting device for correcting an elastic deformation of the forming roll, the mandrel and the moving is device occurring during the rough rolling, for a switching time from the rough rolling to the finish rolling by an output signal from the outside diameter detecting device. The moving device is moved backwardly away from the mandrel by a distance corresponding to a difference between amounts of elongation which are due to a rolling load during the rough rolling and due to a rolling load during the finish rolling for the switching time.

    摘要: A double cup for a tapered roller being has a concave intervening surface between the small diameter ends of its tapered raceways. The cup is produced by roll forming a tubular blank at ambient temperature into a ring form having the raceways and the concave intervening surface. The presence of the concave intervening surface leaves only a shallow discontinuity in the exterior surface of the ring form, and that discontinuity is machined away with the removal of only a minimal amount of stock. The cup weighs less than cups with straight intervening surfaces.

    摘要: A process for the continuous chipless separation of identical individual rings from tubular workpieces by using cutting rollers. In order to produce highly-accurate rings, preferably from antifriction bearing steel, the section of the tubular workpiece to be separated is completely encompassed by the longitudinal contour of the cutting rollers and the faces of the rings are produced plane-parallel and vertical relative to the workpiece axis. What is essential is that prior to the cutting process the tubular workpiece is heated to a temperature that substantially lowers the deformation resistances of the material used.

    摘要: A roll forming method is used for forming an annular product with a radially outwardly extending flange portion at an end and includes steps of holding a center portion of a work for forming the annular product by a holding device, rotating the work, contacting a circumferential end portion of the rotating work with a forming roller to be pressed to form the flange portion while retaining a circumferential outer end of the work. The present invention is advantageous in that the resultant product has a good quality without deficiency, such as underfill of the material and has an improved toughness unlike a cast product, a product made by welding and the like of the same structure.

    摘要: An end finisher machine is disclosed. A longitudinal base mounts a stabilizer block which in turn mounts a high speed shaft or spindle, the spindle extends through a head having a camming surface and mounts a tooling assembly at its distal end. A motor drives the spindle at high speeds. A workpiece is placed in a tool holder mounted on the base adjacent the head. A first drive cylinder moves the stabilizer block and the tooling assembly to a correct axial position adjacent the workpiece. A second drive cylinder moves the head to cam the tooling assembly to drive the tools to perform the desired tooling operation.
