Abstract:
An electric component structure is provided with at least two electrical conductive parts, an insulator and a magnetic flux generating structure. The electrical conductive parts are arranged with an electric line of force existing between adjacent ones of the conductive parts. The insulator holds the conductive parts. The magnetic flux generating structure generates a magnetic flux with magnetic flux lines oriented in a direction different from a direction of the electric line of force existing between the adjacent ones of the conductive parts.

An electrical hand tool device comprises a ventilated housing body, which has inlet and outlet openings for cooling air flow and accommodates the electromotive components of the device, in particular, a motor that is excited by a permanent magnet and is powered by a battery, and a magnet that is provided in the area of the cooling air flow for collecting magnetic or magnetizable dust. In order to protect the electric motor, the device is designed in such a fashion that at least two magnets are provided in the axial direction between the inlet openings and the electromotive components of the device, and a means is provided, which electrically cooperates with the at least two magnets to determine whether a substantial amount of magnetizable dust has collected on the magnets, in which case, a control measure can be performed.

Abstract:
In closed cooling water systems of the kind where deionized and usually deaerated cooling water comes into contact with copper or copper alloys, the formation of scales, depositions due to general copper corrosion is eliminated by the addition of H2 to the cooling water system. The product formed in anoxic (O2-free) water may be described as CuOyHx, but this product can be reduced and, thus, avoided if a sufficient amount of hydrogen is supplied. The life of the stator coil copper pipe for cooling water in an electric generator can be extended significantly by this invention, which is applicable also to other fields, such as closed cooling water systems for particle accelerators and nuclear fusion reactors (such as ITER), for example. In addition, the maintenance cost for such water cooling systems in contact with copper metal will be reduced drastically.

A filter system is provided for a hydrogen cooled dynamoelectric machine, and includes a float trap fluidly connected to a component of the dynamoelectric machine via a first conduit, a filter fluidly connected to the float trap via a second conduit, and a flow switch fluidly connected to the filter via a third conduit. The third conduit is fluidly connected to a hydrogen control assembly.
Abstract:
A rotary electric machine includes: a stator, a rotor and rotor fans contained in a closed type frame. The cooling gas is circulated in the frame by the rotor fans and warmed as a result of heat exchange with the stator and the rotor is cooled by a gas cooler. A heat pump is adapted to use cooling water or ambient air as high temperature heat source and liquid coolant as low temperature heat source. A liquid coolant circulation system for supplying liquid coolant to the heat exchange section of the gas cooler is provided. The liquid coolant is cooled by the heat pump and is supplied to the heat exchange section of the gas cooler by means of the coolant circulation system.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a cooling medium flow path for improving cooling efficiency of a cooling medium used for liquid-cooling systems for motors, radiators and the like. The cooling medium flow path according to the present invention is capable of increasing cooling efficiency of a cooling medium by providing magnetic members for generating a magnetic force in a direction substantially perpendicular to the flow direction of the cooling medium so that clusters of a liquid, such as cooling water, antifreeze liquid or the like flowing through the flow path may be finely divided or activated.
Abstract:
A cooling system for a sealed permanent magnet generator is disclosed that has a rotor shaft that is hollow. Permanent magnets mount on the exterior of the hollow rotor shaft. The rotor shaft has a pressed aluminum tube in various configuration on the inside bore with an end-mounted fan. The aluminum tube acts as a heat sink to draw the heat generated by the magnets through the rotor shaft and aluminum tube. The fan draws cooling air through the hollow bore of the rotor shaft thus cooling the magnets and forces the heated air through passages on the exterior of the stator housing. Because the airflow is not in contact with the electrical portions of the generator the cooling system will perform in dusty, wet and explosive environments. In another configuration a refrigeration compressor installed in the rotor shaft bore cools the rotor shaft and the fan cools the stator passages.
