Abstract:
A method of providing content to users includes, at a host computer, receiving a user-initiated request for the content. The request relates to specific service discovery-enabled media and the request includes an identifier. The method also includes using the identifier to locate the content, and providing the content to the user. The method also includes receiving at the host computer one of a user-initiated request to settle a transaction using a previously-identified account, a request to credit a purchase to a previously-identified loyalty program account, and a request to purchase an item from a specific merchant. The method also includes taking an action consistent with the second-listed receiving step.
Abstract:
Embodiments generally relate to systems and methods for processing electronic payments for retail services and goods delivered by unattended retail device. In embodiments, an unattended retail device leverages a consumer's mobile appliance to send the transaction and payment information to an authorizing authority. The authorizing authority receives the payment and transaction information, authorizes or declines the payment of the transaction, and forwards the authorization or declination to the mobile appliance. The mobile appliance then sends the authorization or declination to the unattended retail device. If authorized, the unattended retail device provides the retail good or service.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are provided for a simplified risk assessment for a promissory transaction when sufficient historical transaction information exists for the check writer. In an embodiment, a computerized method for determining authorization of a financial transaction comprises maintaining a historical transaction value for past transactions associated with related promissory payments, receiving a request from a merchant to determine authorization of a financial transaction associated with a proffered promissory payment, the proffered promissory payment having at least one transaction identifier, accessing the historical transaction value associated with the related promissory payments, and determining based on the historical transaction value whether to authorize the financial transaction based a risk score or whether to authorize the financial transaction based on data stored in a negative database.
Abstract:
This disclosure describes, generally, methods and systems for performing cardless financial transactions using a telephone number. The method may include registering a customer's telephone number with a financial account of the customer based at least in part on verification of the customer's identity and prompting the customer to enter into a cardless transaction. The method may further include receiving the entered telephone number and personal identification number (PIN). The method may further verify the entered telephone number by comparing it to the registered telephone number, and in response to verification of the entered telephone number, retrieve account information for the financial account. The method may further include verifying the entered PIN by comparing it to a corresponding PIN associated with the financial account, and granting access to the financial account based on verification of the entered telephone number and PIN.
Abstract:
Money is loaded onto prepaid debit cards at ATMs (without the use of clerk-assisted POS terminals). The network for processing transactions includes a debit/credit network with a ATM Load BIN table, which includes transaction permitted (TP) data associated with each bank identification number (BIN) appearing in the card number of the prepaid cards. If a load transaction is requested, the transaction is permitted and passed by the debit/credit network to the card issuer only if the TP data reflects that such a transaction is permitted.
Abstract:
A method of manufacturing devices that generate digital signatures such that each device may be reliably and uniquely identified includes creating a public-private key pair within each device during manufacture; exporting only the public key from the device; retaining the private key within the device against the possibility of divulgement thereof by the device; and securely linking said exported public key with other information within the environment of the manufacture of the device, whereby each device is securely bound with its respective public key. A database of PuK-linked account information of users is maintained. The PuK-linked account information for each user includes a public key of such a device; information securely linked with the public key during manufacture; and third-party account identifiers, each of which identifies an account to a third-party of the user maintained with the third-party that has been associated with the user's public key by the third-party.
Abstract:
A transaction is conducted at a merchant location using redeemed loyalty points maintained in a loyalty point account for a customer. The transactions are conducted using a mobile device at a POS terminal. In response to receiving a customer ID from the mobile device, a loyalty server provides the monetary value of loyalty points. The customer may use the mobile device to redeem those points and have the value transferred into a financial account. A payment processing system connected to the POS terminal completes the transaction using the financial account.
Abstract:
Certain embodiments of the present invention provide systems and methods for receipting transactions transacted at a POS device. More specifically, but not by of limitation, embodiments of the present invention provide methods and systems for electronically receipting POS transactions and, in some embodiments, of providing the electronic receipts to a destination selected by a party to the POS transaction.
Abstract:
A point of sale system comprises a microprocessor system, a peripheral interface, and a communication interface. The point of sale system is configured to receive, through the communication interface, an update to peripheral operation software associated with a peripheral device that may be connected to the peripheral interface. The peripheral device may be a contactless reader. The updated software may be received from a terminal management system connected to the point of sale device through the communication interface. The updated software may comprise a peripheral driver that is stored in memory comprised in the point of sale device. The updated software may comprise peripheral firmware that is stored in memory comprised in the peripheral device.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and machine-readable media are disclosed for utilizing mobile electronic devices to redeem and report use of various marketing offers such as coupons. According to one embodiment, redeeming and reporting a marketing offer can comprise transmitting information related to the marketing offer from a mobile wallet of the mobile device to a target device. A redemption message can be received at the mobile wallet of the mobile device from the target device. The redemption message can indicate acceptance of the marketing offer. At least a portion of the redemption message can be sent from the mobile wallet of the mobile device to a service provider system providing communication services to the mobile device. Sending the redemption message from the mobile wallet of the mobile device to the service provider system can be performed via a wireless communications network such as a cellular network.
