    Abstract: A method performed by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system is provided. The method includes receiving, from a base station, layer 1/layer 2 triggered mobility (LTM) configuration information including a configuration for at least one candidate cell via a radio resource control (RRC) message, wherein the configuration includes information associated with UE-based timing advance (TA) measurement configured for a candidate cell, identifying that the UE-based TA measurement is configured for the candidate cell of the at least one candidate cell, based on the information, receiving, from the base station, a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) indicating a LTM cell switch, the MAC CE including first information indicating a configuration identity (ID) of the candidate cell for the LTM cell switch and second information on a timing advance command, identifying whether a valid timing advance (TA) value is indicated based on the timing advance command, and in case that the valid TA value is indicated based on the timing advance command, applying the TA value for the LTM cell switch to the candidate cell.

    Abstract: The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. Specifically, the disclosure provides a method and an apparatus for managing configuration information to efficiently support continuous conditional PSCell change. The method of UE comprises: receiving, from a base station, an RRC message including a configuration on a subsequent conditional PSCell addition or change (CPAC), the configuration including information on a candidate SCG configuration of a candidate PSCell and an MCG configuration associated with the candidate SCG configuration; and identifying the configuration included in the RRC message, wherein the configuration includes a reference configuration for the candidate SCG configuration.

    Abstract: Disclosed are a communication technique for merging, with IOT technology, a 5G communication system for supporting a data transmission rate higher than that of a 4G system; and a system therefor. The method includes establishing a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) entity for a radio bearer based on a first sidelink PDCP protocol data unit (PDU); and setting state variables of the PDCP entity to an initial value based on the first sidelink PDCP PDU, wherein the state variables include an RX_NEXT indicating a next PDCP PDU and an RX_DELIV indicating a PDCP PDU not delivered to an upper layer, wherein the initial value of a sequence number of the RX_NEXT is set based on a sequence number of the first sidelink PDCP PDU for sidelink communication, and wherein the initial value of a sequence number of the RX_DELIV is set based on the sequence number of the first sidelink PDCP PDU for the sidelink communication.
