Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may determine, when using resource spread multiple access with non-orthogonal multiple access, that a particular modulation scheme is enabled. The user equipment may process symbols using a set of processing sequences selected based at least in part on the particular modulation scheme such that the particular modulation scheme is preserved for the symbols. The user equipment may transmit the symbols based at least in part on processing the symbols using the set of processing sequences. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. More particularly, aspects of the present disclosure provide multiplexing schemes which may be suited for the single carrier waveform. For example, some techniques and apparatuses described herein permit multiplexing of multiple, different data streams without destroying the single-carrier properties of the waveform. Additionally, or alternatively, some techniques and apparatuses described herein may provide unequal error protection, unequal bandwidth allocation, and/or the like as part of the multiplexing schemes. Examples of multiplexing schemes described herein include in-phase/quadrature (I/Q) multiplexing, superposition quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) based at least in part on layered bit mapping, polarization division multiplexing of QAM with superposition coding, and frequency division multiplexing using UE-specific beams.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques may enable a user equipment (UE) to reuse a same waveform type for both of a first contention-free random access (CFRA) message and an acknowledgement (ACK) message for a random access response (RAR) message from a network entity. The UE may transmit the first CFRA message using a first waveform type and via a first resource with a first resource index, and may retransmit the first waveform type via a second resource with the first resource index in response to receiving the RAR message. In some examples, the UE may not receive the RAR message. In such examples, the UE may not retransmit the waveform. That is, if the network entity does not receive the response to the RAR message, the network entity may interpret the lack of response as a negative acknowledgement (NACK).

RESOURCE ALLOCATION INDICATION IN UNRESTRICTED BANDWIDTH PART

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may determine resource allocation information when operating on an unrestricted bandwidth part (BWP) that is not configured with a control resource set (CORESET) associated with system information (SI) acquisition. For example, the UE may receive first control information indicating a first CORESET associated with SI acquisition. The UE may receive second control information indicating an unrestricted BWP that is configured with a second CORESET that is different than the first CORESET. The unrestricted BWP may have a bandwidth that is equal to, greater than, or less than the bandwidth of the first CORESET. The UE may determine a resource indicator value (RIV) to include in a frequency domain resource allocation (FDRA) field for the unrestricted BWP. The UE may communicate, via the unrestricted BWP, based on the RIV.
