Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless device may determine that a channel is reciprocal and perform an implicit sounding process. During the implicit sounding process, the wireless device may estimate the uplink channel by measuring a first uplink multi-user multiple input multiple output (MU-MIMO) transmission. The wireless devices may then update the uplink channel estimation based by measuring a second MU-MIMO transmission that is received after a downlink transmission from the wireless device. Based on the updated uplink channel estimation, the wireless device may send a beamformed MU-MIMO transmission to a number of other wireless devices.

Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for data parsing for resource unit (RU) aggregation. A wireless communication device (such as an access point (AP) or a station (STA)) may allocate a set of resource units (RUs) for a receiving device in a basic service set (BSS). The set of RUs may be associated with multiple bandwidth segments of a bandwidth allocation and may be non-contiguous or contiguous. The wireless communication device may determine a data parsing and encoding scheme for a set of information bits. In some implementations, the encoded bits may be distributed to the set of RUs based on a distance to tone mapping value or pilot tone location or both of the aggregated set of RUs different than respective values or pilot tone locations of the RUs in the aggregated set of RUs.

Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices, and systems for a wireless communication device to perform signal phase rotation. In some implementations, the wireless communication device may determine a number of phase rotation parameters to be applied to a number of tones of a transmission signal. In some aspects, each of the phase rotation parameters indicates a phase rotation to be applied to each of the tones according to a carrier index range for each of the tones and a bandwidth mode for the transmission signal. In some implementations, the wireless communication device may apply the phase rotation parameters to respective ones of the tones according to the specified phase rotations and the carrier index ranges, and transmit the transmission signal from the wireless communication device according to the applied phase rotation parameters.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides various aspects related to techniques for generating trigger frames, at an AP, that reduce the overhead associated with triggering an uplink transmission from the STA. In some examples, the STA may also calculate its transmit power by decoding a spatial reuse subfield of the trigger frame from the AP and identifying downlink pathloss measurements of the trigger frame. Accordingly, the STA may identify acceptable interference level of the AP and calculate a transmit power in order to minimize interference at the AP. In some aspects, the STA may transmit its uplink packets to a different AP on one or more punctured channels at the calculated transmit power of the STA.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for coordination between multiple access points (APs) for communications within a transmission opportunity (TxOP). A first AP may gain channel access for a TxOP, and may coordinate with at least a second AP to allow both the first AP and the second AP to transmit and receive wireless communications during the TxOP. The first AP, upon gaining channel access following a successful contention-based channel access procedure, may initiate a scheduling phase with the second AP to schedule of resources within the TxOP for the first and second APs. The first AP may initiate a multi-AP coordinated transmission phase following the scheduling phase, during which both the first AP and second AP may communicate with one or more associated STAs.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless device, such as a device in a wireless local area network, may use a radio frame structure that includes a high efficiency (HE) signal field and an HE data field for communications, for example, over shared radio frequency spectrum. One or more bits or symbols within the HE signal field may be adjusted to avoid a high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR). In some cases, the adjustment may be to a signal A (SIG-A) or signal B (SIG-B) field. In some examples, a random bit sequence may be used for padding in a signal field. In other examples, bits may be reversed or scrambled. In yet other examples, bits may be modulated and a phase rotation may be applied to the corresponding signal.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. In some systems (e.g., Wi-Fi systems), a transmitting device such as an access point (AP) or mobile station (STA), may identify a number of spatial streams for a data transmission that is less than a number of transmit antennas, and may transmit a packet over a channel. In a first implementation, the packet may be formatted in a multi-user frame format, with a number of long training field (LTF) symbols equal to the number of transmit antennas. In a second implementation, the packet may be a null data packet (NDP), and the device may transmit a separate data packet. In a third implementation, the packet may be formatted in single-user frame format with a modified LTF. A receiving device may receive the packet, and may perform channel estimation and power amplifier (PA) distortion cancellation based on the received packet.
