Abstract: During playback of a content item, a media signature corresponding to a first portion of the content item is identified. A number of media signatures representing portions of a plurality of other content items may have been previously identified and stored. Each stored media signature may also include an identifier of an associated content item and a timestamp corresponding to a position in the associated content item at which the signature is located. If it is determined that the identified media signature matches a stored media signature, a progress bar is generated for display comprising an identifier of the content item associated with the matching stored media signature, and a progress indicator corresponding to a timestamp associated with the stored media signature.

Abstract: The present disclosure is generally directed to media systems configured to receive and play media assets. In particular, methods and systems are provided for improved media asset session continuity across such media systems. Systems and methods are provided herein for continuing media asset sessions across media systems or media devices in a way designed to minimize manual intervention, for example, by determining a likelihood (e.g., a probability) of a user requesting media session continuation of an ongoing media asset or a segment thereof across two or more devices.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for dynamically modifying a playlist for reviewing highlights of a media event. A playlist comprising highlights of a media event may be generated by a media guidance application. A user command may be received by the media guidance application to extend or shorten the currently-playing segment of the playlist. To generate a longer version of the segment, the media guidance application may access the media asset from which the playlist was originally generated at a position corresponding to the currently-playing segment, and generate a longer version of the segment. To generate a shorter version of the segment, the media guidance application may remove a portion of the currently-playing segment. The media guidance application may replace the currently-playing segment with, and begin playing back, the modified version of the segment.

Abstract: Systems and methods are presented herein for enabling a vehicle, configured to support autonomous vehicle operation, to change a location of the vehicle based on the detection of an impending impact with the vehicle. A starting location of the vehicle is determined while the vehicle is parked, unoccupied, and comprises an inactive powertrain. In response to determining a watchdog state is enabled, data corresponding to the location is accessed from within a threshold distance of the vehicle. An identifier and a trajectory of an object is determined. In response to determining that the trajectory corresponds to an impact path with the vehicle, an evasive route for the vehicle is determined that terminates at a safe location not subjected to the impending impact. An instruction to activate the vehicle powertrain and an autonomous mode of the vehicle to execute the identified evasive route is transmitted for the vehicle to process.

Abstract: Systems and methods for dynamically sharing a media item based on satisfying a condition are disclosed. The methods provide the media item for selection based on selection of a contact or vice versa. The media item may be photo, video, audio, or another type of item in which the contact is included, e.g., the contact is in the photo selected. The methods determine the media item is relevant to the contact based on a facial recognition match. The shared media item, which may be a photo, automatically replaces, for example, a wallpaper or lock screen of the contact. The methods also disclose a shared camera that allows users in a proximity of a first user to opt into a shared group. Once they join/opt in, any photo taken or viewed by the first user is simultaneously displayed on the display of all members of the shared group.
