Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for managing unwanted transmissions by a wireless communications device, such as spurious transient transmissions caused by changing a power level of a transmitter. An exemplary method includes determining, based on one or more parameters, an action to reduce an impact of a spurious transmission by the UE, wherein the spurious transmission relates to at least one of changing a transmit power level at the UE or switching one or more radio components at the UE, and taking the determined action to reduce the impact.

An example method generally includes determining one or more narrowband regions partitioned from wider system bandwidth for communicating with a base station, determining resources, within the one or more narrowband regions of a first subframe, for transmission of sounding reference signals (SRS) by the UE, deciding whether or not to transmit SRS on the determined resources of the first subframe, and transmitting or not transmitting the SRS on the determined resources of the first subframe based on the decision.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) signals, and the determination of a precoding matrix for configuring the MIMO signals. An uplink traffic channel may be configured utilizing orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) waveform. Determination of the precoding matrix may be based at least in part on an estimate of the uplink carrier, where the uplink carrier estimate is based at least in part on a downlink reference signal, exploiting channel reciprocity in a time division duplex (TDD) carrier. Determination of the precoding matrix may further be based at least in part on a cross-correlation matrix Rnn or a whitening matrix determined by a scheduling entity. Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for a user equipment (UE) to set uplink power control for a long uplink burst and a short uplink burst. The UE receives uplink power control information including a first set of power control parameters for a long uplink burst and a second set of power control parameters for a short uplink burst with the sets of power control parameters being different from each other. The UE configures uplink power control for the long uplink burst based at least on the first set of power control parameters and the short uplink burst based at least on the second set of power control parameters. The UE sends at least one of a long uplink burst and a short uplink burst based on the corresponding uplink power control and sends at least one uplink power-headroom report for the long uplink burst and short uplink burst.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for implicitly linking aperiodic channel state information (A-CSI) reports to CSI-reference signal (CSI-RS) resources. In an aspect, the UE may be instructed to report on specific CSI-RS resource(s) via explicit signaling in the UE grant. Other aspects disclose techniques for implicit CSI-RS resource selection by the UE that require fewer signaling resources. Instead of explicitly signaling CSI-RS resources to the UE, the UE may implicitly select CSI-RS resource for CSI feedback reporting based on information known to the UE, e.g. a subframe on which a reporting request is received. This may reduce the impact of the additional signaling in the UE grant.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless device may identify a configuration for uplink and downlink communications that defines subframe configuration options for each subframe of a frame. For example, the configuration may establish parameters for time division duplexing (TDD) operation between a base station and a user equipment (UE). The wireless device may determine a constraint for a subframe of the frame based on the configuration and determine an adaptive subframe configuration based on the constraint. The adaptive subframe configuration may include one or several downlink symbol periods and one or several uplink symbol periods. The wireless device may communicate during the subframe according to the adaptive subframe configuration rather than the original configuration. The adaptive subframe may be constrained by the identified uplink and downlink configuration, which may avoid disruption to UEs.

Abstract: Dynamically adaptive numerologies for ultra-reliable low-latency communications (URLLC) are discussed in which a base station may determine performance characteristics for each user equipment (UE) that it serves, in addition to detecting any fluctuations in system loading at the base station. Based on this information, the base may be select for each of the served UEs an adapted numerology that provides an optimized set of configurations that assist the communications between the base station and each UE to meet the strict parameters for URLLC. Once selected, the base station signals the selected adapted numerology to the UEs either through broadcast or UE-specific communications.

The UE can transmit, to the base station and in an uplink portion of the slot, an indication of the one or more feedback bits.

Abstract: Multiple base stations or transmit points (TPs) may use single-user multiple-input multiple-output (SU-MIMO) layer-specific and codeword-specific communication configurations for non-coherent joint transmissions (NCJTs) to a user equipment (UE). Two TPs may be configured for NCJTs to the UE, and one or more of the TPs may transmit a set of communication configurations to the UE. The communication configurations may be transmitted in a single downlink control information (DCI) transmission that configures the UE to receive NCJTs as two codewords in a SU-MIMO transmission. The UE may receive the DCI, receive the multiple NCJTs, and demodulate/decode the NCJT transmissions as multiple codewords in a SU-MIMO transmission. In some cases, the two codewords may be received from two TPs. Alternatively, the two codewords may be received in two spatial layers transmitted from a single TP.
