Abstract: Indication of transmission priority class is disclosed for sharing a base station's maximum channel occupancy time (MCOT) for use in autonomous uplink (AUL). Aspects of the disclosure provide for implicitly sharing the MCOT by providing an indication of transmission opportunity (TxOP) length. A serving base station sends an indication of a current TxOP length in control signals to a user equipment (UE). The UE may then infer a set of potential transmission priorities used by the serving base station according to the TxOP length, as TxOP length may relate to the MCOT, which itself may be associated with a particular transmission priority class. The UE may then, conservatively, select the highest transmission priority of the set of potential transmission priorities for autonomously transmitting any uplink data having at least the selected highest transmission priority within configured AUL resource of the current TxOP.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for wireless communication in the unlicensed spectrum between an eNB and UEs having different bandwidths, e.g., between a narrowband UE and a wideband eNB. A base station apparatus may perform a dual CCA procedure for a frame, wherein the dual CCA procedure comprises a first type of CCA procedure followed by a second type of CCA procedure when the first type of CCA procedure is unsuccessful. The apparatus may transmit during the frame when at least one CCA procedure of the dual CCA procedure is successful and may refrain from transmitting during the frame when both CCA procedures of the dual CCA procedure are unsuccessful. In performing the dual CCA procedure, the apparatus may perform CCA for a first period of time then perform eCCA for a second period of time following the CCA, when the CCA is unsuccessful.

Abstract: Generally, the described techniques provide for a base station transmitting an indication of a set of one or more available channels to a user equipment (UE). The base station may transmit to the UE a first downlink burst using a first channel and a first frame period. In some cases, the base station may detect interference associated with the first downlink burst, for example, by performing a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure or through an interference management resources (IMR) procedure in which the base station transmits reference signal signals to the UE that the UE may use to return a report on measured interference. If the base station detects interference, the base station may transmit to the UE an instruction to switch to a second channel and a second frame period, where the second channel may be selected from the set of one or more available channels.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) and base station may communicate using narrow band internet of things (NB-IoT) techniques or enhanced machine type communication (eMTC) in unlicensed spectrum. The UE may be an eMTC device or another device capable of communication without user direction. The UE may identify a geographic region and select a communication mode that is consistent with regulatory restrictions in that region. For example, in some cases, the communication mode may be based on using time division duplexing (TDD), using frequency hopping, or performing a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure at the base station. A frame structure for TDD may include LBT subframes, uplink portions, downlink portions, and special subframes for switching. The base station may perform LBT procedures in the LBT subframes. If frequency hopping is enabled, a configurable number of TDD frames may be grouped into a hopping frame block.

Abstract: Some wireless communications systems may support different types of communications between base stations and user equipment (UEs), such as mobile broadband (MBB) communications and low latency communications. Low latency communications may be associated with bursty and unpredictable transmissions. As described herein, to facilitate low latency communications and limit the latency associated with waiting on appropriate resources for transmitting low latency data, a base station may schedule downlink low latency transmissions on uplink resources or uplink low latency transmissions on downlink resources. Further, to limit the latency associated with scheduling low latency communications, a base station may be configured with a carrier for transmitting preemption indications (PIs) to one or more UEs to reassign resources for low latency communications. Similarly, in some cases, a UE may be configured with a carrier to transmit scheduling requests (SRs) to request resources for low latency communications.

A base station may identify a plurality of downlink carriers for a transmission time interval (TTI), e.g., a subframe. Abstract: Techniques for control channel signaling on a shared communication medium are disclosed. An access point or an access terminal may communicate over a communication medium in accordance with a Time Division Duplex (TDD) frame structure defining a set of subframes that each span a plurality of time-domain symbol periods. The access point may transmit and the access terminal may receive control information via a short Physical Uplink Control Channel (sPUCCH) on one or more of the subframes in a portion of the subframe configured for uplink signaling. The sPUCCH may comprise one or more pilot symbols and one or more payload symbols that collectively occupy a subset of less than all of the symbol periods in each of the one or more subframes.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some wireless networks (e.g., MulteFire networks), a base station may transmit control information to a user equipment (UE) to enable the UE to access the network and establish a connection with the network. The base station may transmit the control information to the UE in search spaces of an enhanced physical downlink control channel (ePDCCH). In some cases, resources used to transmit control information in a first common search space of the ePDCCH may overlap with resources used to transmit control information in a second common search space of the ePDCCH. In such cases, using the techniques described herein, a base station may encode control information transmitted in the different types of search spaces using different scrambling sequences. As such, a UE may be able to differentiate between the control information transmitted in the different types of common search spaces.
