Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A device may manage an end-to-end delay budget for wireless communications. The communication device may receive semi-static control signaling indicating a packet delay requirement. The communication device may receive dynamic control signaling from a different device indicating a packet delay measurement for one or more of a packet or a group of packets associated with the wireless communication in one or more of a downlink or an uplink. The communication device may adjust a packet delay parameter to compensate a delay for one or more of the downlink or the uplink based on the packet delay requirement and the packet delay measurement, and may communicate in the downlink, the uplink, or both based on the adjusted packet delay parameter.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for a service-based cell reselection by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system. The UE may have a service relationship with a particular service. A wireless communication system may provide different types of services via different radio frequencies. The UE may determine which cells to measure for cell reselection to include those that correspond to a service of interest to the UE. In addition to power savings, the UE may experience faster cell reselection for a service. The techniques of this disclosure also may enable a priority-based cell reselection so that the UE can camp on a cell that supports a higher priority service compared to other services supported by the UE.

Abstract: Techniques for wireless communications are described. Control information used to preschedule communication resources may be received and communications may be performed based on the control information using a prescheduling technique. A scheduling type used for the control information may be determined using configuration information, an indication included in the control information, or both. A wireless device that is prescheduled communication resources may not start or not restart an inactivity timer based on the received control information. Also, a wireless device that is prescheduled communication resources may not start a retransmission timer based on the received control information. Additionally, a wireless device that is prescheduled communication resources may also refrain from transmitting a scheduling request based on a duration until a next instance of prescheduled communication resources is expected to occur.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may be receive a grant configuration including multiple set of parameters, and the UE may select a set of parameters from the configured grant based on a channel condition. In some examples, the UE may be configured to signal to a network (e.g., a base station) the selected set of parameters and their corresponding parameter values. For example, the UE may be configured to signal the selected set of parameters over semi-static signaling (e.g., radio resource control (RRC) messaging) or dynamic signaling (e.g., medium access control-control element (MAC-CE) messaging, uplink control information (UCI) messaging, or the like). By configuring the UE with multiple set of parameters, the UE may adapt to changing channel conditions, which may provide higher reliability and lower latency for wireless communications, as well as reduce power consumption for the UE.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless device may receive during an active duration, an indication of an opportunity to request uplink (UL) transmission. The wireless device may identify an opportunity to request UL transmission based at least in part on the indication. In some cases, the active duration may be a discontinuous transmission (DTX) configuration. The wireless device may then transmit on the UL resources during the opportunity to request UL transmission.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless device may receive a downlink (DL) reception indication during an active duration of a discontinuous reception (DRX) configuration. The DL reception indication may indicate the presence of a reception opportunity following an inactivity interval, as well as the length of the inactivity interval. The wireless device may refrain from DL monitoring during the inactivity interval. In some cases, the wireless device may enter a sleep mode during the inactivity interval and wake up to receive a subsequent transmission during the reception opportunity. In some examples, the wireless device may use the inactivity interval to communicate using a different radio access technology (RAT).

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may communicate with a base station in a wireless communications system. The base station may transmit signaling to the UE over a broadcast channel. The base station may transmit control signaling to the UE that indicates a broadcast root key. The UE may identify the broadcast root key for a wireless network corresponding to the base station. The base station may transmit an encrypted broadcast transmission. The UE may receive the encrypted broadcast transmission from the base station, and the UE may decrypt the encrypted broadcast transmission to obtain broadcast information based on a cell-specific key derived from the broadcast root key.
