Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for fountain hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) for reliable low latency communication. A wireless device may transmit a data block based on a low latency operational mode. The device may then transmit a number of redundancy versions of the data block prior to determining whether an acknowledgement (ACK) has been received. In some examples the ACK may be an augmented ACK, which may be based on the number of redundancy versions received prior to successfully decoding the data block, and which may include an additional resource request. In some examples, the device may select an updated modulation and coding scheme (MCS) based on the augmented ACK. In some examples, the device may increase a number of frequency resources (e.g., component carriers) used for transmission based on the augmented ACK.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may select a first communication, associated with a first traffic type, or a second communication, associated with a second traffic type, as a selected communication for transmission in an overlapping resource, wherein the first communication and the second communication at least partially overlap in time, and wherein the selection is performed based at least in part on a rule; and transmit the selected communication. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide a subframe structure for time division duplex (TDD) carriers that can be entirely self-contained. That is, information transmitted on a TDD carrier may be grouped into subframes, where each subframe provides communication in both directions (e.g., uplink and downlink) in a suitable fashion to enable such communication without needing any further information in another subframe. For example, a single subframe may include scheduling information, data information corresponding to the scheduling information, and acknowledgment information corresponding to the data information.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless device may determine that a serving base station supports multi-code and single-code transmissions, receiving a scheduling message having a cyclic redundancy check scrambled with a radio network temporary identifier (RNTI), determine resources for communicating with the serving base station based on the scheduling message, and communicate on the resources using coding associated with the single-code transmissions. A base station may identify at least one user equipment that supports single-code transmissions, transmit a scheduling message having a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) scrambled with a radio network temporary identifier (RNTI), wherein the scheduling message schedules the at least one user equipment for communication on resources using coding associated with the single-code transmissions and communicate with the at least one user equipment on the resources using the coding.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure disclose techniques for the indication of the allocation of the downlink (DL) demodulation reference signal (DM-RS) ports for the data channel in NR communications. In some examples, the channel state information (CSI) reference signal (CSI-RS) may be associated with a corresponding DM-RS for a DL data channel. The transmitting device, in some examples, may further transmit a notification that provides resource allocations (e.g., port allocations) that minimize the redundant information that is required to be transmitted from the base station to the user equipment (UE) when the DM-RS port allocation is the same as the CSI-RS port allocation received by the UE in an earlier time slot.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for wireless communication are provided. A transmitting apparatus receives an indication to use multiple subframes to send uplink control information, codes the uplink control information over the multiple subframes based on the indication, and sends the coded uplink control information via the multiple subframes. Sending the coded uplink control information includes transmitting acknowledgement information (ACK) of a current downlink-centric self-contained subframe in an uplink acknowledgement portion of the current downlink-centric self-contained subframe, bundling ACK bits of multiple downlink-centric self-contained subframes and encoding the bundled ACK bits to generate parity acknowledgement bits associated with systematic acknowledgement bits, transmitting the systematic acknowledgement bits in each uplink acknowledgement portion of the multiple downlink-centric self-contained subframes, and transmitting the parity acknowledgement bits associated with the acknowledgement information bits of the multiple downlink-centric self-contained subframes in an uplink-centric self-contained subframe that is sequentially subsequent to the multiple downlink-centric self-contained subframes.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a timing advance (TA) command that includes a timing value for calculating a timing offset to be applied to adjust a timing of an uplink transmission; determine a numerology to be used to calculate the timing offset from the timing value; and calculate the timing offset using the timing value and the numerology, wherein the timing value corresponds to different timing offsets for different numerologies. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) with repetitions, including techniques for signaling the number of PDCCH repetitions, the hybrid automatic repeat request (HARD) timeline processing with PDCCH repetitions, and the demodulation reference signal (DMRS) structure for the repeated PDCCH. A method for wireless communications, by a user equipment (UE), includes determining a number of repetitions of a PDCCH. Each of the PDCCH repetitions has a same downlink control information (DCI) payload, a same aggregation level, and/or a grant for a same data channel allocation. The method includes monitoring for the PDCCH based on the determined number of repetitions.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a wireless communication device may determine to block puncture or to block shorten a set of transmitted bits of an adjusted fractally enhanced kernel polar code for a communication of an incremental redundancy (IR)-hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process based at least in part on a code rate associated with the communication of the IR-HARQ process. The wireless communication device may generate the adjusted fractally enhanced kernel polar code for the communication based at least in part on determining to block puncture or to block shorten the set of transmitted bits. The wireless communication device may transmit the communication using the adjusted fractally enhanced kernel polar code. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a configuration that indicates a first sub-slot periodicity for downlink semi-persistent scheduling (SPS). The UE may receive a plurality of transmissions according to the first sub-slot periodicity in a first slot, wherein the first sub-slot periodicity enables receiving the plurality of transmissions within a single slot. The UE may transmit hybrid automatic repeat request acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) information in a second slot, wherein the second slot includes a plurality of physical uplink control channels (PUCCHs) with a second sub-slot periodicity, and wherein the HARQ-ACK information is associated with the plurality of transmissions. Numerous other aspects are provided.
