    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for increasing the reliability of low latency transmissions are described. For example, multiple control messages and/or multiple data messages may be transmitted for a single transport block. Explicit and/or implicit signaling may be used to support the repetition of control and data transmissions in a low latency environment. For example, explicit signaling may be used to indicate a correspondence between repeated control and/or data messages. Additionally or alternatively, particular configurations may be used to implicitly signal a correspondence between repeated control and/or data messages.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some wireless communications systems, a transmitting device may be configured to transmit a transport block in a set of transmission time intervals (TTIs) of a repetition window to improve the chances that the transport block is received by a receiving device. In some cases, however, the transport block may not be available to be transmitted in the repetition window until after a first TTI of the repetition window. In such cases, a transmitting device may use the techniques described herein to identify appropriate configurations for transmitting the transport block in the repetition window. For example, the transmitting device may identify an adjusted redundancy version sequence to use for transmitting the transport block in the repetition window or the transmitting device may adjust a repetition window based on a TTI in which the transport block is available to be transmitted.

    Abstract: Techniques are described herein related to communicating a quality of service (QoS) class identifier (QCI) for configuring physical (PHY) layer signaling. The QCI may be used to configure one or more transmission parameters of a device (e.g., a user equipment (UE) or a base station) at a PHY layer. The PHY layer may select the one or more transmission parameters to meet the QoS conditions of a given QoS class of a transport block being communicated. A modulation and coding scheme (MCS) value may be used as the QCI for the PHY layer, a channel quality indicator (CQI) value may be used as the QCI for the PHY layer, or a cell radio network temporary identifier (C-RNTI) may be used as the QCI for the PHY layer. In some cases, the QCI may be a single bit included in a downlink control message.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for compact downlink control information (DCI) signaling design for ultra-reliable low-latency communications (URLLC). A method for wireless communications performed by a base station (BS) is provided. The method generally includes generating DCI, the DCI scheduling at least one transmission, according to a first DCI format. The first DCI format is compressed relative to a second DCI format and includes a carrier indicator field (CIF) and/or a rate-matching indicator field. The BS transmits the DCI to a user equipment (UE). The UE communicates with the BS based on the received DCI.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may use easily detectable transmission parameters to infer difficult-to-detect parameters for communications with a base station. For example, the base station may provide the UE with multiple sets of transmission parameters, and the UE 115 may choose from among these sets of transmission parameters for the communications. In some cases, the UE may be configured with a reference set of transmission parameters, receive one or more transmission parameters that are different relative to the reference set of transmission parameters, and then determine to use the different transmission parameters for the communications. Additionally or alternatively, the multiple sets of transmission parameters may be specified for a certain uplink message (e.g., random access channel messages), where the UE selects the transmission parameter set based on one or more characteristics of the uplink message.
