    Abstract: A method, apparatus, and a computer-readable storage medium are provided for dynamic updating of PRSs. In an example implementation, the method may include a user equipment receiving continuous positioning configuration, wherein the continuous positioning configuration comprises a periodic reporting configuration and/or an event-based reporting configuration. The method may further include performing assistance measurements based at least on the continuous positioning configuration and transmitting a measurement report to a network entity, the measurement report based at least on the assistance measurements. In another example implementation, the method may include a gNB receiving one or more updated positioning reference signal resources from the location server and transmitting an updated positioning reference signal to a user equipment, the updated positioning reference signal transmitted using the one or more updated positioning reference signal resources.

    Abstract: There is provided a method comprising: determining that a random access procedure is to be applied in response to initiating a beam failure recovery, BFR, procedure; selecting a beam with which the random access procedure is to be attempted; determining whether or not the selected beam is allocated with a contention free preamble; and performing one of the following: 1) upon determining the positive, applying a contention free random access, CFRA, procedure based on a first limit for an access attempt counter; and 2) upon determining the negative, applying a contention based random access, CBRA, procedure based on a second limit for the access attempt counter, wherein the first and second limits are different.

    Abstract: Example embodiments of the present disclosure relate to beam failure recovery mechanism. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, there are provided an improved solution for reporting candidate beams in serving cells. If a beam failure occurs in a serving cell, the first device determines a candidate beam for beam failure recovery from a plurality of beams in the serving cell based on link qualities of the plurality of beams. The first device also determines a resource configuration for a random access for the beam failure recovery for the first device or a resource to be used for the random access, The first device further generates an indication for indicating a characteristic of the candidate beam or a characteristic of a beam for performing the random access, based on at least one of the determined resource configuration or the determined resource. The first device also transmits an identity of the candidate beam and the indication to a second device. The second device performs the beam failure recovery based on the candidate beam and the characteristic of the candidate beam.
