Abstract: This document describes methods and systems for common search space configuration and system information acquisition. As part of the methods and systems, a base station wirelessly communicating with a user equipment that is in an engaged mode determines to configure a common search space through which the user equipment can receive a system information block that is other than a system information block type 1 or a master information block. The base station transmits a first message that includes a set of common search space configuration parameters for the user equipment to receive the other system information block. The base station transmits, in accordance with the set of common search space configuration parameters, a second message that includes the other system information block.

Abstract: To manage configuration when a UE operates in multi-radio dual connectivity (MR-DC), the UE receives, by processing hardware and from a radio access network (RAN), conditional configuration information including (i) a conditional configuration related to a base station operating in the RAN, and (ii) a condition to be satisfied before the UE applies the configuration (1102). The UE receives, by the processing hardware and from the RAN, an indication that the UE is to release the MR-DC (1104), and determines, by the processing hardware and prior to the UE transitioning from the MR-DC to a new connectivity mode, whether the UE is to release the conditional configuration (1106).

Abstract: This document describes methods and systems for user equipment (UE) context transfer over radio access network (RAN) paging. A first base station receives from a second base station a first message that includes a context that is associated with a user equipment while the user equipment was in an engaged mode with the second base station. The first base station transmits a second message that is a paging message to the user equipment and in response receives, from the user equipment, a third message that includes a resume message authentication code identifier. After the first base station verifies the third message using the resume message authentication code identifier, the first base station transmits, to the user equipment, a fourth message that enables the user equipment to resume the engaged mode with the first base station in accordance with the context.

Abstract: This document describes methods and devices for preventing inadvertent idle mode for a UE in multi-node connectivity with a master node and at least one secondary node. In an implementation, the UE includes first and second Media Access Control (MAC) entities for respectively communicating with a master node and a secondary node. The UE starts or restarts at least one data inactivity timer responsive to detecting a communication of data on at least one of the MAC entities. Rather than inadvertently releasing resources of a node as part of the UE transitioning to an idle mode, thereby potentially ceasing connectivity of active communication with the node, the methods and devices described here prevent this release unless connections to both nodes are inactive. By so doing, degradation to a user's experience and the waste of power, computing, or bandwidth resources may be prevented.
