摘要： A process and device for conveying articles, such as boxes of confectionery products. The articles, which initially advance on a plurality of parallel paths, are firstly ordered into rows such that they slide on a surface of a plate under the action of motor-driven entrainment strips or blades. When they pass onto a conveyor which acts transversely relative to the general direction of advance of the articles on the plate, the rows are made compact and the articles are urged against a side restraint plate. The articles can then be withdrawn from the compact rows in a predetermined number when the rows themselves pass in correspondence with further motor-driven conveyors which act transverse the general entrainment line of the articles. The withdrawal operation can be repeated several times, the rows having been made compact in the interim urging the articles against the side plate again.

Pallets can be sequenced into the load forming stations when empty or partially empty; and can be sequenced out of the load forming stations when empty, partially empty, or full. A given layer may be a hybrid layer comprised of the sum of partial layers fabricated separately. In some embodiments, the transfer apparatus can transfer layers to more than one of more than one load forming stations. In some embodiments, rows of units of material are advanced transversely onto and across an in-feed conveyor to thereby define, on the in-feed conveyor, the full width of the layer being formed.

摘要： A device for stacking and destacking a stream of imbricated, substantially planar, flexible units to form or destack a layered stack. The device is a stacker, adapted to receive a stream of units from a source thereof, and a plurality of transfer sheets. The feeder delivers the stream of units to the stacker.The stacker has staging belts which receive portions of the stream and deposit the units serially on one of the transfer sheets, as it is withdrawn from the sheet stack. This forms an imbricated layer of the units and the transfer sheet. The stacker deposits the imbricated layer on a removable support and repeats the cycle to deposit successive imbricated layers on the preceding layers. Destacking is carried out by simply reversing the process.

The same number of cigarettes as the number of cigarettes in a cigarette package are piled on each cigarette piling head. 摘要： Photographic prints which issue from the outlet of the dryer in a developing machine are gathered into stacks, and successive stacks are admitted into successive empty compartments between the outwardly extending partitions of a belt or chain conveyor. The conveyor is advanced in stepwise fashion, to move successive empty compartments to a station for reception of stacks, by a panel which receives motion from a crank drive in such a way that it constitutes an extension of a partition at the station and during a certain stage of movement of such partition behind the stack in the freshly filled compartment. This renders it possible to maintain in proper orientation stacks which are assembled of relatively small, medium-sized or large prints.
